G34 Guardian Desert TRF – Adaptive protective eyewear for varying light conditions
Unpredictable lighting, tactical movement and demanding requirements for material and vision – the G34 Guardian Desert TRF is optimized for situational adaptation. With self‑tinting lenses, ballistic protection and a custom fit, it provides a modular solution for dynamic operational environments. Its construction follows one clear objective: maximum function with minimal distraction.
Frame: NBFX polymer with shape‑memory
The eyewear is built on the specialised NBFX (Non Breaking Flex Polymer), which is completely unbreakable, dimensionally stable and airbag‑safe. Even under significant deformation or localized force impact the frame returns to its original shape. The material does not splinter or form sharp edges – a decisive safety advantage in vehicle interiors or under stress.
With a specific gravity of just 1.11 g/cm³, NBFX belongs to the lightest materials in tactical optics. The eyewear is comfortable to wear without pressure, even for extended durations or when used in combination with a helmet, headset or ballistic head‑protection gear.
Temples: INCLINOX technology for individual adjustment
The INCLINOX temples are cold‑formable, reversible and tool‑free adjustable. They can be precisely tuned to head shape, seating position and equipment. The system maintains consistent fit even under physical activity, moisture or heat – without pressure points or loosening.
Lenses: NBFX TRANSFORMER energizer F2–F4 with TRINITY Lens Technology
The NBFX TRANSFORMER energizer F2–F4 lenses automatically adjust their tint to ambient light. The range from filter category F2 (light tint) to F4 (strong tint) covers a wide spectrum of lighting conditions – ideal for shifting scenarios between sun, shade, indoor spaces or reflections. The adaptive tinting operates seamlessly and without delay.
The TRINITY Lens Technology combines three optical performance areas: high light transmission with UV‑block, selective filtering for improved contrast perception, and precise imaging via an Abbe value of 45. This high Abbe value significantly reduces color fringing and chromatic aberrations – especially relevant during rapid eye movement, detail recognition and target acquisition under varying light conditions.
The lenses are entirely impact‑resistant and offer 100 % protection against UVA and UVB radiation (280–400 nm). Even under direct force impact – for example by ballistic fragments or particles in the field – they remain operative and stable.
Certification: EN166 & STANAG 2920
The G34 Guardian Desert TRF meets both the requirements of EN166 for personal eye protection as well as the NATO standard STANAG 2920 for ballistic protective systems. It is classified as optical class 1 under EN166 and withstands fragmentation velocities up to 296 m/s in a V50 test – a performance well above that required for ballistic protective eyewear.
Thus the eyewear is not only approved for civilian protection scenarios, but optimised for tactical environments where reliable shielding against mechanical threats is essential.
Production: Sustainable, local, technically refined
Development, manufacturing and quality assurance are carried out entirely in the Tyrolean Zillertal. The eyewear is produced under controlled conditions – not in mass production, but in close coordination with tactical requirements. The local production ensures material transparency, sustainability and uncompromised technical execution.
