Reliable Duty Boot
The new Salomon X Ultra Forces Mid GTX is a mid-cut, robust duty boot designed both for discreet low-visibility operations and for fast-paced missions that demand high agility and endurance. It combines the dynamics and lightness of a trail running shoe with the solid stability of a modern hiking boot. Thanks to the integrated Advanced Chassis, which ensures lateral stability and provides effective puncture resistance, the boot offers comprehensive protection without restricting the wearer’s freedom of movement. This makes it an excellent choice for long marches, tactical scenarios, and intensive training phases.
Upper and Foot Enclosure
The upper is made from a carefully balanced combination of non-reflective materials. This selection provides the ideal balance of durability, protection, and flexibility - an essential advantage in the field.
Anti-Debris Mesh
The tightly woven Anti-Debris Mesh reliably prevents sand, dust, or small stones from entering the boot. This keeps the footbed clean even during long missions, improving hygiene and significantly enhancing comfort across changing terrains.
Leather
PU-reinforced leather makes the surface more hard-wearing, protects against premature abrasion, and extends the boot’s lifespan. In addition, the coating is water-repellent and easy to maintain—a clear advantage in poor weather or harsh field conditions.
Gore-Tex
The membrane, made of expanded polytetrafluoroethylene with over 9 billion pores per square inch, is small enough to block water penetration while large enough to allow water vapor to escape. This ensures the boot is both waterproof and breathable, keeping the foot dry and comfortable even under extreme conditions.
Salomon Forces uses PFC-free solutions to ensure water repellency and minimize environmental impact, which is why the GTX models are manufactured without PFCeCs (perfluorinated chemicals).
Optimized Overall Construction
SensiFit System
The SensiFit system cradles the foot from the midsole to the lacing area, delivering a secure and precise fit. This enhances stability during quick direction changes, climbing movements, or rappelling—ensuring a high level of safety.
Gusseted Tongue
The tongue is stitched to the upper, preventing debris and small objects from entering the boot. At the same time, it stays securely centered, improving fit and reducing pressure points.
Internal Reinforcement and Protection
Inside, the boot features targeted reinforcements that support the foot during dynamic movements. A robust toe cap and a wraparound mudguard made from leather, rubber, or synthetic material reliably protect against impacts, scratches, and moisture. This keeps the foot well-protected even during demanding missions.
Lacing System and Details
Closed hooks reduce the risk of snagging laces on obstacles—an essential advantage in dense terrain. In addition, an integrated lace pocket allows excess lace length to be neatly tucked away, reducing the risk of tripping.
Sole Construction
Midsole
EnergyCell technology, made from high-performance EVA foam, delivers excellent shock absorption and supports efficient energy transfer. This benefit becomes especially noticeable on uneven terrain.
Outsole
With its Contagrip tread in a striking zigzag pattern, the outsole provides reliable grip even on slippery or loose surfaces such as mud, gravel, or sand. The integrated Advanced Chassis further enhances lateral stability.
Insole
A breathable OrthoLite insole ensures instant comfort, long-lasting durability, and effective moisture and odor control.
Puncture Protection
For added safety, the Enigma Zero HT2 anti-puncture plate is integrated. This lightweight, non-metallic layer reliably prevents sharp or pointed objects from penetrating from below—without compromising the boot’s weight or flexibility.
