LOWA Womens
The Lowa ZEPHYR is known by its wearers for agility, lightness and stability. Now comes the long-awaited new edition of this classic combat boot. With the new ZEPHYR MK2 GTX MID Ws Black, Lowa releases the next generation women's mission boot which is now officially certified for professional use according to ISO 20347:2012: The new ZEPHYR MK2 GTX MID eliminates any weaknesses on slippery and oily surfaces, ensuring secure footing even in challenging operational situations.
LOWA has managed to master the combination of waterproof and tear-resistant suede as well as breathable Cordura with the highest quality standards, bringing a boot for heavy-duty patrols and abseiling missions to the market. Improved moisture management, the particularly ergonomic sole and excellent cushioning qualify the ZEPHYR MK2 GTX MID Ws for tough parachute landings or operations in varying rough terrain as well as in hot temperatures.
Outsole
As a tactical combat boot, maximum grip on oily, wet or scree-heavy surfaces is one of the most important key requirements for the Lowa ZEPHYR MK2 GTX MID. These high demands are met by the newly developed LOWA X-TRAC MILITARY sole. This outsole gets its slip resistance thanks to a special rubber compound that provides particularly strong grip.
Furthermore, the sole is equipped with a designated rope arch designed for safe fast roping.Midsole
The injected midsole, made from a particularly lightweight foam, provides effective cushioning on any surface, which increases comfort immensely. This is made possible by the various layers of polyurethane foam padding that are moulded into an ergonomic shape and glued to the upper. Millions of small bubbles are thus created in this sole, which cushion endlessly under load and return to their original shape when the load is removed. This creates a midsole with above-average cushioning properties and a special rebound effect.
LOWA also uses the patented LOWA MONOWRAP frame in the ZEPHYR MK2 GTX MID. This has been in use since 1995, comfortably encloses the foot and supports it optimally in all directions thanks to its three-dimensional design.
Inner sole
The insole of the ZEPHYR is responsible for an absolutely stable footbed that can optimally manage moisture and wetness, while also supporting prolonged use with the best ergonomic comfort. The insole is made of 90% polyurethane and approximately 9% polyamide. Polyamide provides special dimensional stability, tear and abrasion resistance and waterproofness, while the polyurethane complements the cushioning properties with its light and functional foam.
Lacing
The ZEPHYR MK2 GTX MID has a sophisticated two-zone lacing system, in which the upper and forefoot have their own, separately adjustable lacing zones. This allows the shoe to be individually adapted to the anatomy of the foot and laced differently for ascents and descents. The lacing hooks are closed so that the laces are securely guided and do not slip out of the hooks. This also ensures that the shoe does not get caught on undergrowth or clothing.
Functional lace garages securely store extra length in the laces, and the enlarged grip loops on the back of the boot ensure even quicker entry when wearing tactical gloves.Upper material
The Lowa tactical boot is made from a high-quality material combination of 80% suede and 20% synthetic. The suede with its loose fibre structure and velvety surface provides a particularly resistant upper material, while the synthetic part with its material properties ensures optimal heat and moisture management.
Upper membrane
To combat weather and hot temperatures, the ZEPHYR MK2 GTX MID is equipped with a GORE-TEX Extended Comfort Footwear membrane. After all, mission boots that are subjected to a lot of wear and tear are not only exposed to exceptional abrasion, but also to nature's most adverse conditions. The innovative technology offers optimal waterproof and windproof protection with excellent breathability at the same time.
Orthotics Certified
The ZEPHYR MK2 GTX MID with an exchangeable footbed in combination with the well-known orthopaedic insoles ErgoPad work:x and ErgoPad® work:h+ from BAUERFEIND ensures an optimal individual fit. As a result, the shoe is certified and approved as an occupational shoe according to DIN EN ISO 20347:2012.
