  NEW ERA OF ZEPHYR

  With the Zephyr MK2 GTX MID, Lowa takes the proven operational boot to the next level. The familiar qualities of its predecessor, such as agility, lightness, and stability, are still present here, but they are now officially certified for professional use according to ISO 20347:2012. The particularly ergonomic and slip-resistant sole with optimal cushioning provides the necessary update, not only qualifying the shoe for dynamic operations and missions in varied and challenging terrain but also ensuring a firm grip on slippery and oily surfaces.

  SOLE

  OUTSOLE

  Lowa sets high demands on the ZEPHYR MK2 GTX MID as a tactical combat boot, especially when it comes to slip resistance on wet, oily or gravel-covered surfaces. To meet these requirements, Lowa has developed the LOWA X-TRAC MILITARY sole. The outsole achieves its grip thanks to a special rubber compound that provides additional slip resistance. Furthermore, the sole is equipped with a designated rope opening designed for safe fast roping.
  

  MIDSOLE

  The injected midsole made of lightweight foam connects the sole and the upper. Different layers of polyurethane foam pads are injected into an ergonomic shape and bonded to the upper. Polyurethane also features a beneficial rebound effect created by the millions of small bubbles contained within the foam. This combination of construction and materials allows for effective cushioning even during fast operations and in challenging terrain.

  The midsole frame of the ZEPHYR MK2 GTX MID is the successful LOWA-MONOWRAP frame, which has been used since 1995. This frame surrounds and supports the foot with its three-dimensional shape, similar to an exoskeleton, providing enhanced safety during fast-roping and operations on uneven terrain.

  INSOLE

  The removable insole of the shoe forms a stable footbed that can manage moisture and wetness, thus providing optimal ergonomic comfort even during prolonged operations. This insole is made of approximately 9% polyamide and approximately 90% polyurethane. The polyamide ensures dimensional stability, abrasion resistance, and waterproofness of the material, while the lightweight foam polyurethane complements the shoe's cushioning properties.

  STRUCTURE AND MATERIALS

  LACING

  The new two-zone lacing system, achieved through an innovative clamp hook, ensures precise customization to the individual ergonomics of the foot. With this lacing system, you can tighten the forefoot and the upper differently. This feature is particularly advantageous in areas that require a high level of secure footing. The closed lace hooks ensure secure lacing and prevent snagging on clothing, undergrowth, or fast-ropes.
  
  Functional lace garages securely store extra length in the laces, and the enlarged grip loops on the back of the boot ensure even quicker entry when wearing tactical gloves.
  

  UPPER MATERIAL

  Lowa trusts on a material combination of 80% suede leather and 20% synthetic for this shoe. The suede leather, with its loose fiber structure and velvety surface, is a particularly durable upper material, while the synthetic Cordura component complements its material properties with optimal heat and moisture management, as well as abrasion resistance.

  SURFACE MEMBRANE

  Tactical boots are exposed to rapidly changing surfaces, temperatures, and environmental conditions. To ensure weather protection and comfort in warm temperatures, Lowa has chosen the GORE-TEX Extended Comfort Footwear membrane for the ZEPHYR MK2 GTX MID. This innovative technology is also suitable for moderate to warmer conditions and strenuous activities. It guarantees high breathability and excellent heat dissipation while providing proven protection against wind and moisture, even during frequent transitions from indoors to outdoors.
  
  In the overall design of the second generation Zephyr, improvements have been made in surface processing to enhance comfort. This includes a revised seam alignment between the forefoot and midfoot, which helps prevent pressure points, particularly during frequent kneeling.
  

  Orthotics Certified

  The ZEPHYR MK2 GTX MID with an exchangeable footbed in combination with the well-known orthopaedic insoles ErgoPad work:x and ErgoPad® work:h+ from BAUERFEIND ensures an optimal individual fit. As a result, the shoe is certified and approved as an occupational shoe according to DIN EN ISO 20347:2012.
