Textile Fortress for Icy Temperatures
The primary focus in the design and development of the proven Carinthia cold-weather protection jacket in its 4th generation was the innovative NIR Camo. By optimizing the cut, reducing outer seams, and using specialized materials, Carinthia succeeded in minimizing critical NIR signatures. The HIG 4.0 is an extremely durable cold-weather protection jacket, ideal for activities in temperatures as low as -20°C. The water-repellent outer material and the 3-way adjustable hood, which can be stowed in the collar, make this robust multifunctional jacket suitable for any weather and environmental conditions. Carinthia's 4.0 series has been further developed in close collaboration with military special forces and law enforcement tactical units, and now features Carinthia's ISO Mapping technology, which significantly enhances the thermal performance of this proven cold-weather protection jacket.

Carinthia's ISO Mapping helps the body build warmth where it is most needed. This is achieved by zoning different body regions. Each body region emits heat differently, and Carinthia ISO Mapping leverages this phenomenon by dividing the body into distinct thermal zones.

LIG, MIG or HIG – The right choice for every mission
The LIG 4.0 is a minimalist jacket, ideal as a midlayer or for mild, dry winter days down to around -5 °C. It offers basic weather protection and good mobility, but only light insulation and no reduced infrared signature. The MIG 4.0, on the other hand, is a well-balanced all-rounder with an insulated hood, a practical pocket layout, and solid insulation down to -15 °C. It is well-suited for demanding outdoor activities in cold conditions and rugged enough for tactical use – featuring IRR protection and CORDURA reinforcements. The HIG 4.0 is the warmest of the three jackets, featuring an extended cut, and superior cold protection down to -20 °C. It is especially suitable for prolonged exposure to extreme cold, such as during static operations or expeditions.Size recommendation
The Carinthia HIG 4.0 Jacket tends to run slightly large. For a looser fit that allows for layering, we recommend choosing your regular size. If you prefer a closer fit and/or are between sizes, you may consider sizing down.Note on use for hunting
The Carinthia HIG 4.0 Jacket is designed for maximum thermal performance, durability, and weather protection – ideal for tactical operations and demanding outdoor activities. However, due to its technical outer material, it produces a noticeable rustling sound when moving, which makes it less suitable for hunting or other noise-sensitive situations.
For hunting purposes, we therefore recommend Carinthia’s specially developed Loden jacket.
