Description
All-round down sleeping bag for winter operations and lightweight expeditions
This model is the Carinthia D 600X in size M (215 x 77 x 50 cm) with right-hand zipper. The sleeping bag is also available in additional sizes and different zipper configurations. An overview of the available D 600X variants can be found further below.
High-performance down sleeping bag for cold weather conditions
The Carinthia D 600X is a powerful all-round sleeping bag designed for cold weather conditions and extended tours with increased insulation requirements. The sleeping bag is suitable for winter nights outdoors as well as lightweight expeditions with a focus on thermal performance.
With a filling of 600 g goose down, a weight of 1,200 g and a compressed pack size of 20 x 21 cm, the D 600X combines high thermal performance with excellent compressibility.
DIScover system and moisture-optimized construction
The DIScover System reduces moisture build-up inside the insulation and supports the long-term thermal performance of the sleeping bag in low temperatures. For this purpose, Carinthia uses an additional outer shell made from water-repellent and breathable Shellproof Ultra, which can be turned inside out for drying.
The outer material is made from 100% polyamide. Inside, highly breathable and downproof Shelltex Ultra helps to quickly move moisture outward. This allows condensation and ice crystals between the material layers to be removed more easily.
European goose down with high fill power
For insulation, Carinthia exclusively uses high-quality European duck and goose down with a fill power of over 800 cuin. The 95/5 down-to-feather ratio provides an excellent warmth-to-weight ratio and strong compressibility.
The H-chamber construction supports even insulation distribution throughout the sleeping bag and reduces the risk of cold spots. The additional air layer between the outer shells further increases heat retention.
Field-ready equipment
The D 600X features a 2-way zipper with integrated thermal flap, zipper cover flap and anti-snag tape. The insulated thermal collar minimizes heat loss around the shoulder area.
In addition, the sleeping bag can be coupled and features prepared loops for the Grizzly Liner or a Polycotton Liner. A compression sack and storage bag are included.

The Comfort Limit ratings are -5°C for the D 400X, -16°C for the D 800X and -37.8°C for the D 1200X.
Care instructions for down sleeping bags
Down sleeping bags are machine washable (gentle cycle, max. 30°C) and suitable for tumble drying at low temperature. Before washing, close all fasteners, loosen all drawcords and turn the sleeping bag inside out. A washing machine with at least 7 kg drum capacity is required. The gentlest cleaning method remains hand washing in warm water with down detergent. After washing, rinse several times to remove detergent residues.
Spin at a maximum of 500 rpm, then air dry – avoid direct sunlight. Machine drying is possible at very low heat using the gentlest drying program. Shake regularly during drying and loosen the down insulation. Finally, allow the sleeping bag to air dry for at least 24 hours.
Proper storage
Down sleeping bags should always be stored uncompressed in order to maintain the insulating performance of the filling. Ideally, store the sleeping bag hanging, open or with opened zippers inside a large storage sack in a dry and well-ventilated place. The down filling requires enough space to expand and recover.
The compression sack should only be used for transport. Do not roll the sleeping bag, but rather stuff it into the compression sack from the foot end with the zipper open, as repeated rolling places stress on the same areas of the filling and may damage the construction.
