  Down Sleeping Bag for Expeditions and Operations in Extremely Low Temperatures

  This model is the Carinthia D 1200X in size M (215 x 80 x 52 cm) with a left-hand zipper. The sleeping bag is also available in additional sizes and zipper configurations. An overview of the available D 1200X variants can be found further below.

  Designed for Extreme Cold

  The Carinthia D 1200X is an expedition sleeping bag designed for operations in extremely low temperatures. The construction was developed for demanding environments and combines high-performance down insulation with an additional outer shell to support thermal efficiency.

  Insulation is provided by 1,200 g of 95/5 snow goose down with a fill power of 800+ cuin. In size M, the sleeping bag weighs 1,900 g and can be compressed to a packed size of 25 x 28 cm. Carinthia specifies a Comfort Limit rating of -37.8°C for this model.

  DIScover System with Additional Outer Shell

  The D 1200X features the DIScover System developed by Carinthia. The additional outer shell was designed to reduce the effects of moisture inside the sleeping bag and to support insulation performance in demanding weather conditions.

  The design allows the outer shell to be turned inside out through a zipper opening. This enables accumulated moisture to escape more easily. At the same time, an additional air layer is created between the shells, increasing the sleeping bag’s heat retention capability.

  Snow Goose Down with Trapezoidal Chamber Construction

  Carinthia uses premium 95/5 snow goose down with a fill power of 800+ cuin as the insulation material. The natural down insulation provides high thermal performance while maintaining excellent compressibility.

  The trapezoidal chamber construction keeps the insulation in its intended position and supports an even distribution throughout the sleeping bag. This helps maintain insulation performance across the entire sleeping area.

  Functional Features for Expedition Use

  Features include a two-way zipper, an integrated zipper draft tube, a zipper cover flap, and an anti-snag tape. These elements support handling and reduce the risk of fabric becoming caught during operation.

  In addition, the sleeping bag is equipped with a thermal collar and can be coupled. Preconfigured loops allow the use of a Grizzly or Polycotton liner. A stuff sack and a separate storage sack are also included.
