Technical Combat Pants for Movement-Intensive Operations
The Arc’teryx Pro Tactician AR Pant, together with the matching Tactician AR Shirt, is one of the central components of the new Tactician Collection. Arc’teryx Pro combines its extensive experience with the results of intensive field testing and ongoing consultation with experienced operators.
Whether used for fast-roping, extended foot patrols or operations involving extensive personal equipment, the combat pants are designed for changing operational conditions, different types of terrain and variable operational tempos. The movement-oriented cut, strategically reinforced high-wear areas and tactical pocket layout allow the pants to adapt to different equipment configurations and mission profiles.
Stretch Ripstop Fabric with No-Melt/No-Drip Properties
The main fabric is the 190 g/m² Spartan HT Flex Lite. This ripstop blend of cotton, nylon and elastane features two-way stretch and combines a durable fabric structure with the flexibility required for dynamic movement.
The construction is complemented by the fabric’s no-melt/no-drip properties. The pocket bags and knee lining are made from a separate, durable stretch fabric that moves with the body while remaining breathable. The Tactician AR Pant has a total weight of 760 g.
Movement-Oriented Cut for Long Operational Days
The ergonomic cut is adapted to natural movement patterns and frequent changes of position. The pants provide the necessary freedom of movement during tasks requiring close body positioning, dynamic movement or the use of additional equipment, without being unnecessarily loose.
The combination of flexible fabric and an adapted fit supports comfort throughout extended periods of use. This makes the construction suitable for conventional foot patrols as well as fast-roping, airborne operations and mission profiles involving heavy tactical loads.
Carrying System for Belts and Mission-Essential Equipment
The reinforced belt loops are designed to accommodate a rigger’s belt or a 2-inch inner-duty belt. Weapons, radios and communication equipment can therefore be positioned securely on the belt and remain controlled against the body during intensive movement.
At the lower leg, adjustable hook-and-loop tabs allow the cuffs to be adapted to combat boots. The close-fitting cuffs reduce both ride-up and the risk of snagging on equipment or obstacles. Dual-stitched eyelets at each cuff also allow the pant legs to be secured with paracord, particularly during airborne operations.
Adjustable Knee Protection for Ground-Level Positions
Low-profile foam knee pads are integrated into the knee areas. Their thermo-moulded and perforated construction combines protection, flexibility and breathability without adding unnecessary bulk around the knees.
The pads can be adjusted in height, removed completely or replaced with hard knee caps. Adjustment tabs behind the knees stabilise their position during movement. Additional webbing reinforcement over the knee areas increases abrasion resistance at this heavily exposed point.
Tactical Cargo Pockets with a Secure Internal Layout
The large-volume cargo pockets provide space for magazines, tools, communication equipment and other mission essentials. Their hook-and-loop flap closures enable one-handed access, while an additional button secures the outer pocket flap during airborne operations and comparable movement-intensive situations.
Inside the pockets, elastic loops and webbing prevent carried equipment from shifting uncontrollably. The divided layout facilitates targeted access to individual items. An integrated drain hole allows any water that enters the pocket to escape.
Additional Leg Pockets for Flat and Compact Equipment
Zippered upper-thigh pockets accommodate mobile phones, identification documents and other flat items. Smaller mission essentials that need to remain immediately accessible can be stored in the outer lower-leg pockets with hook-and-loop closures.
The hand pockets are also designed for operational use and feature additional reinforcement around the knife-clip area. Cord pulls instead of purely metal zipper pulls reduce direct metal contact while also lowering the risk of snagging the zippers on equipment or elements in the surrounding environment.
