Description
Landings with TPU plate carrier
The most waterproof landing in this year's TT innovations is the new "Anfibia" series, with which Tasmanian Tiger dedicates itself to all over-the-beach missions and finally provides suitable equipment for all those whose daily operational routine moves between water and shore. The new series is grouped around the TT Plate Carrier QR SK Anfibia MKII and adds magazine pouches and a Tac Pouch for heavy-duty missions on water and land.
Materials & design for seawater proof missions
In the development of the plate carrier, the focus was on seawater proof materials and a design that guaranteed the lowest possible weight with water absorption. The result is a Cordura 700 den, which is made permanently elastic and waterproof with TPU coating. TPU stands for thermoplastic polyurethane, which is a surface treatment that is extremely resilient and waterproof without taking away the elasticity of the basic material. In this way, full mobility is maintained and the plate carrier is nevertheless not weighed down only by the absorbed water: in tests, it was possible to measure that the plate carrier only gained about 55g in weight 20 seconds after being removed from the water, which corresponds to about 7% of the normal weight.
In order to achieve the goal of the lightest possible carrier with the best possible water drainage, the surface of the plate carrier was skeletonised. This not only ensures that water and mud drain away quickly through the holes, but also provides an ideal mounting surface for the pouches of the "Anfibia" series.
Compatible plates and size adjustment
The TT Mag Pouches VL as well as all Mag Pouches of the "Anfibia" series are suitable as additional gear to the plate carrier; the TT Tac Pouch 18 Anfibia is also available as an addition to the "Anfibia" series on the side of the TT Plate Carrier QR SK Anfibia MKII. Fleece surfaces can additionally be covered with patches.
As a protective vest, the plate carrier is of course suitable for all SAPI plates in the size range from 30 x 25 cm to 33 x 27 cm, whereby the plate holder is adjustable in height. For a good fit, the shoulder straps can also be adjusted to the body length, ranging from a length of 23 cm to a maximum of 40 cm. The elastic side panels with M.O.L.L.E system can also be adjusted in length, or replaced entirely and replaced with the - non-amphibious - TT Molle Hyp Belt.
Thanks to the quick-release system with ROC buckle, the plate carrier can be thrown off quickly.
