Amphibious Operations with TPU Plate Carrier
The TT Plate Carrier QR SK Anfibia MKII is the core piece of Tasmanian Tiger's brand new "Anfibia" series, which focuses on PPE and core equipment pieces for all amphibious task operators. With seaproof pieces that have been put through their paces and ideally developed with OTB missions in mind in terms of design and material choice, the series is at the side of specialists who operate in and around water.
Seawater proof materials & waterproof design
The robust plate carrier is made of Cordura 700 den with TPU coating. TPU stands for thermoplastic polyurethane and is a permanently elastic, waterproof coating that is airtight and watertight, yet extremely resilient. Because the material does not lose its flexibility despite the coating, the TPU Cordura is doubly ideal: freedom of movement is maintained and yet the carrier is not weighed down by the absorbed water: tests have shown that the plate carrier gains only about 55g in weight 20 seconds after being removed from the water, which is about 7% of the normal weight.
However, not only the material but also the skeletonisation of the surface serve the ideal drainage of water and mud. Additionally, pouches can be connected to the slots.
Compatible plates and size adjustments
The TT Plate Carrier QR SK Anfibia MKII is suitable for all SAPI plates in the size range from 30 x 25 cm to 33 x 27 cm, whereby the plate holder is adjustable in height. The shoulder straps can also be adjusted to the body length, ranging from a length of 23 cm to a maximum of 40 cm. The elastic side panels with M.O.L.L.E system can also be adjusted in length; they can also be replaced completely and replaced by the - non-amphibious - TT Molle Hyp Belt.
The TT Mag Pouches VL as well as all Mag Pouches of the "Anfibia" series are suitable as a supplement to the plate carrier; in addition, the TT Tac Pouch 18 Anfibia is of course intended for the protective vest. Fleece areas can be fitted with patches as usual. Thanks to the quick-release system with ROC buckle, the plate carrier can be thrown off quickly.
