WATERPROOF AND BREATHABLE MEMBRANE JACKET
The Helikon-Tex Squall Hardshell Jacket is the ultimate new hardshell jacket in Helikon-Tex's layering range. As a high-tech rain jacket, it meets demanding conditions with the latest material developments and complements Helikon-Tex's softshell options with the appropriate membrane jacket. With sealed seams, a hood with a high collar, and YKK AquaGuard zippers, the jacket protects even against the worst snowstorms and the wildest rain showers.
The idea behind the Hardshell Squall was to develop a jacket with versatility and adaptability. In winter, it can easily be worn with a warming layer underneath, and in spring, the hardshell jacket can be worn on its own as rain protection since it is lightweight and comfortable.
TORRENTSTRETCH - WATERPROOF HARDSHELL MEMBRANE
The Squall Hardshell Jacket introduces a new material technology with the brand new TorrentStretch membrane. This three-layer laminate features a microporous membrane placed between the outer protective layer and the integrated lining.
This innovative membrane is specially designed to reliably repel water while effectively wicking moisture away. With an exceptional waterproof rating of an impressive 30,000 mm water column, it guarantees ultimate protection against wetness, keeping the body comfortably dry even in extreme weather conditions.
DWR COATING
The jacket is equipped with an eco-friendly DWR (Durable Water Repellent) coating that is free of perfluorocarbons (PFCs). While PFCs, a group of chemicals in past water-repellent coatings, should be avoided due to their potentially harmful effects on the environment and health, the eco-friendly DWR coating used here is free of harmful chemicals, providing a more sustainable solution for protection against wetness and a safer material for the wearer.WATERPROOF CONSTRUCTION AND HOOD
The jacket's material alone is not enough, which is why the jacket has welded seams, meaning no seam holes through which water could penetrate. This ensures a waterproof seal at all critical points of the jacket. Waterproof YKK AquaGuard zippers are also integrated. The main zipper is a two-way zipper, allowing ventilation to be adjusted as needed. A Prym snap button secures the lower section. The hood of the Squall Jacket is particularly versatile, as it is adjustable in two directions and features a high collar. This allows for individual adjustments to optimally protect the head and neck from wind and rain.
EXCELLENT BREATHABILITY
Despite its waterproof and impermeable properties, the Squall Jacket impresses with outstanding breathability. For the nerds: its RET (evaporative resistance coefficient) is an impressive <5, indicating an exceptional ability to efficiently transport moisture from the body to the outside. This ability ensures a highly comfortable wearing experience, even during intense activities. There are also ventilation openings under the arms to regulate temperature and ensure efficient ventilation. Adjustable cuffs and regulators in the hood and at the bottom of the jacket also offer the possibility to customize the fit of the hardshell jacket. This allows the jacket's fit to be adjusted to the body according to conditions, maintaining freedom of movement.
POCKET CONFIGURATION
The Squall Jacket has a total of three pockets, one of which is placed inside. This internal pocket is excellent for storing documents or a mobile phone, allowing quick access to important items. The left shoulder of the jacket has a loop panel for attaching patches or badges. Last but not least, the Squall rain jacket is space-saving: it can be easily stowed in its own hood, meaning it takes up little storage space and is easy to transport.
QUALITY CERTIFICATIONS:
BlueSign - The BlueSign system excludes environmentally harmful substances from the beginning of the production process. This makes it possible to ensure safer and more environmentally friendly production, higher standards in terms of resource use, consumer protection, emissions in water and air, and occupational safety.
Oeko-Tex Standard 100 - A certificate that confirms the quality of textiles and textile products in contact with human skin. The product is tested for the presence of the hundred most dangerous substances that threaten consumers. Additionally, factors such as sweat, saliva, and odor resistance are evaluated.
