Low-Profile Tactical Pants with Advanced Ergonomics and Modular Protection Integration
With the P-40 Classic Gen.3 Tactical Pants, the established P-40 concept is functionally advanced in decisive details. The focus is on more precise ergonomic refinement, optimized load support as well as an even more adaptive combination of mobility, climate management and protection integration within a deliberately reduced low-profile platform.
The third generation retains the characteristic combination of robust PolyCo Ripstop construction, dynamic stretch zones and a professionally understated signature, while adding noticeable developments in waist system, ventilation, knee integration and compatibility with the UF PRO Waist/Flex System.
Construction and Materials
The base construction consists of durable PolyCo Ripstop with 67% polyester and 33% cotton and is designed for long-term use under operational conditions. The material combines high abrasion resistance with breathability and fast drying performance, making it suitable for both hot and variable operating environments.
To support dynamic movement patterns, the pants integrate bi-elastic stretch zones in the knee area, seat, hips and lower back. These movement zones reduce tension points during sprinting, climbing, kneeling, position changes or working in confined spaces while increasing mobility without compromising stability or load management.
With a weight of only 0.74 kg in size 34/34, the pants intentionally remain lightweight and are equally suited for extended wear and movement-intensive operational profiles.
Adaptive Fit and Load Management
The revised Adaptive Waist construction significantly improves fit and movement adaptation compared to the previous generation. Side stretch panels follow body movement dynamically and provide a precise fit without pressure points or restriction during long wear periods.
Additional support is provided by the integrated 3D Lower-Back Support Pad, which stabilizes the transition between body and waistband, improves load distribution and creates noticeable comfort gains especially when carrying a belt setup or additional gear.
Prepared, reinforced side attachment points enable integration of the UF PRO Waist/Flex System. Combined with the separately available belt, the platform can be expanded for increased load support and additional stability.
The system is complemented by reinforced belt loops with press-button closure, a rubberized inner waistband for secure shirt retention as well as preparation for an optional WINDSTOPPER liner.
Performance Range in Variable Climate Conditions
Designed for a temperature range from -10 °C to +35 °C, the P-40 Classic Gen.3 covers a broad range of applications across multiple seasons. Breathable materials and integrated ventilation options support a balanced climate under heat stress.
In lower temperatures, a cold-weather configuration can be achieved through a zip-integrated thermal or WINDSTOPPER liner without restricting system mobility.
Knee Protection and Modular Protection Options
The external knee construction is designed for UF PRO 3D Tactical Knee Pads and allows integration of different protection levels depending on mission profile. Depending on requirements, Cushion or Impact configurations can be used.
For additional protection against puncture-related hazards, the platform is also compatible with UF PRO Solid Pads.
Low-Profile Functionality and Pocket Layout
The 7-pocket configuration combines discreet signature with functional access. Two dual-access side pockets with internal stretch compartments allow fast access to equipment, complemented by two front pockets with elastic openings for dynamic use.
Two discreetly integrated rear pockets as well as a concealed safety pocket with zipper inside the left front pocket expand secure and structured carriage of small equipment items or valuables.
Adjustable lower leg width via Canadian button allows further adaptation to footwear, gaiters or different mission requirements.
Differences Between Gen.2 and Gen.3
The Gen.3 retains the proven core concept of the previous generation while specifically expanding it in several operationally relevant areas. Particularly notable is the new waist construction with integrated stretch zones, creating a more adaptive and stable fit.
Also newly integrated is the 3D Lower-Back Support Pad, offering noticeably more comfort and stability, especially during extended wear and under belt load. This is complemented by full preparation for the UF PRO Waist/Flex System.
Pocket functionality has also been revised. Stretch-optimized front pockets improve access especially under movement and increase the platform’s everyday usability.
Another significant advancement lies in the new knee pocket construction with mesh lining and ventilation function, improving both protector integration and airflow while expanding adaptability to climate and mission demands.
