High performance combat shirt for cold temperatures
High-mobility missions in freezing temperatures pose a challenge to the best combat shirts: they should be technically superior with good heat and moisture management, yet they must not restrict freedom of movement and must be as freely combinable as possible without having to contend with a bulky surplus of material.
This is where UF Pro has come in with its AcE Winter Combat Shirt 2nd Gen and brought the technical upgrade of its Winter Combat Shirt to the tactical market. In its new combat shirt, UF PRO relies on superior materials that can be brought to their best possible performance through highly technological processing. The basic idea of the shirt combines 3 layers of clothing: it brings together underwear, midwear and outerwear to form a combat shirt.
To start with, the windproof and highly water-repellent outer material made of 100% nylon provides a weather protection layer on the outside. This is not only lined on the inside, but also underlaid with an air pocket between the outer material and the insulating lining. This air pocket provides an additional layer of insulation and can optimally balance the body climate: whether the wearer needs full protection against the cold when at rest, or also requires moisture management when the body core temperature is elevated in an active state. In keeping with its tactical mission, the outer material is processed to be as silent as possible, i.e. rustling of the material is avoided as much as possible.
The sleeves of the Combat Shirt are double-insulated, making them particularly sensitive to the cold: On the one hand, G-LOFT insulation provides the best possible retention of body heat, but on the other hand, the merino wool lining ensures that the excellent thermal insulation properties meet moisture-wicking, odour-inhibiting qualities. In this way, moisture management and protection against the cold are combined.
The UF Pro air/pac system is incorporated for cold protection, but also for better wearing comfort when used with a backpack or plate carrier. The air-pac system prevents cold air from entering and cushions the shoulders and upper back when the PPE is heavily loaded.
Functional design for use with PPE
To ensure that the Combat Shirt does not lose its technical functionality, the G-Loft synthetic fibre in particular ensures that the shirt does not lose its structure and functionality when folded and tucked into the smallest of spaces: The material unfolds completely again.
For better combinability, the front zip is angled. If the Combat Shirt is worn with an additional hardshell or thermal jacket, the angled zip is not distracting and there is no overlapping. In this way, tangling and pressure points are avoided and wearing comfort is guaranteed.
Temperature regulation via zips
The kangaroo pockets can be reached at all times, even when wearing a plate carrier or rucksack. Thanks to the mesh inside, they can also allow fresh outside air to flow directly to the body core and dissipate excess heat at the same time.
Additional, strategically placed vents can be opened quickly and with one hand using the smooth-running YKK two-way zips, so that body heat can be regulated manually.
