  For special forces off-road or in urban operations, on dry choppy ground, on wet roads or even in standing water, the new XA Forces 8" GTX EN is the universal weapon in the tactical field. It is super light, super agile and extremely robust - the boot has all the features we expect from a good performance boot. Salomon designed it based on the popular XA PRO 3D boot, but added some tactical features to make the classic boot even better.
  
  

  What's new, what's been taken over?

  
  Generally speaking, all the features have been retained but made more robust, more durable, more reliable. Absolutely all components have been revised in this respect: From the double and triple stitching to the even more robust mesh material to the laces and the reinforced outsole - everything here is simply +1.
  
  

  Movement safety and stability

  
  Above all, stability and safety during movement should win some points and so Salomon has incorporated its tried and tested 3D Advanced Chassis, which lies between the outsole and midsole and which protects, cushions and stabilises the foot. Movement can be better controlled thanks to the chassis and small uncertainties can be absorbed. What Salomon has been using for years for its trail running series also ensures real quality here: Even in the roughest terrain, a precise, stable running feeling is created.
  
  

  Penetration-resistant Contragrip sole for better performance

  The sole plays a big role here, of course, and Salomon has used its signature Contagrip MA outsole, especially because it is suitable for a wide variety of surfaces; versatility and flexibility are guaranteed by the tread as well as the material. In the EN version, the sole also complies with the ISO 20344:2011 standard for a puncture-resistant sole.
  
  The midsole combines two energy cell foams to provide the right amount of cushioning. Finally, this OrthoLite® insole inside is anatomically shaped and not only increases comfort but also provides the necessary breathability.
  
  Breathability is theme number 1 in the choice of material; although the mesh material does not allow fine sand or dirt particles from the outside in, the nylon is breathable and provides the necessary ventilation. The mesh material is single-layered, allowing for the Salomon SensiFit design to completely wrap the foot tightly, creating a secure, snug fit. Of course, the GORE-TEX guarantees dry feet, both inside and out. Nubuck leather reinforcements at critical stress points provide extra durability. A protective piece of rubber over the toe area reduces the risk of injury and provides more security.
  
  

  So many features, but what about the weight?

  
  It looks great, because the XA Forces GTX 8" EN weighs in at just 620 grams, making it one of the lightest combat boots in the field with an 8-inch shaft.

  Great comfortable boots for any time of the year. They just have one thing that I don't like. The part where the tongue is, the upper part of the boots. I can't pull laces enough to cover my socks, so there's a space where your leg can become wet. Show more Show less
