Versatile Mummy Sleeping Bag
The Carinthia SOF 2 is a synthetic military sleeping bag featuring 190g/m² of insulation, making it useable for temperatures down to freezing. As a part of the adaptive Fast & Light line, the SOF 2 prioritizes low weight, compact pack size, and compatibility with other SOF bags. This makes it ideal when every gram counts in a fully loaded pack.
Flexible Sleep System
The Special Operation Forces sleeping bags are designed to adapt to various temperature conditions, featuring color codes for easy identification. The SOF 2 provides a comfort rating of +5°C and a limit of 0°C. When paired with the SOF 1, it reaches a comfort limit of -11°C, and combined with the SOF 3, it can handle down to -20°C. All three together offer a comfort limit of -24°C, suitable even for harsh winter conditions.
Innovative Hollow Fiber
Carinthia's G-LOFT insulation technology combines the warmth of natural down with the durability of synthetic fibers. The unique memory effect ensures that the bi-component fibers return to their original form even after heavy use and in wet conditions. The SOF 2 features a double-layered G-LOFT filling, delivering high insulation performance while remaining lightweight and breathable.
Classic Design
The familiar mummy shape with a central zipper provides a good fit that maximizes heat retention. The face opening has an adjustable drawcord, and the zipper can be partially opened from below for ventilation. Internal anti-snag tape and stiffening seams prevent the zipper from jamming, while a baffle maintains insulation. The outer flap with hook and loop secures the zipper against accidental opening and blocks wind. An internal mesh pocket offers storage for small items, and elastic loops allow for the attachment of liners.
Durable Outer Material
The lightweight, abrasion-resistant polyamide outer fabric can withstand rough conditions. Its smooth surface resists dirt and branches, while water-repellent properties protect against light rain and condensation. High breathability ensures a comfortable climate.
Differential Cut and Foot Box
The differential cut prevents compression of the insulation layers, while the ergonomic foot box provides both comfort and best use of space.
Heat-Reflective Layer
The Thermoflect layer enhances the thermal efficiency of the sleeping bag by reflecting body heat, maximizing warmth without adding bulk.
Includes Compression and Storage Bag
To efficiently pack your backpack, the SOF 2 comes with a compression sack that reduces the sleeping bag to a compact 18x25 cm, making it easy to carry. To maintain the loft and insulation effectiveness of the fibers over time, the sleeping bag should be air-dried after a trip and then stored uncompressed. For this, a storage bag in olive color is provided, which is made from breathable mesh material and also features a removable color-coded patch. Alternatively, the 3x8 cm loop areas can be used for other patches or personal identifiers.

Care instructions for G-LOFT sleeping bags
G-LOFT sleeping bags are machine washable (delicate cycle, max. 30°C) and suitable for tumble drying on low heat. Before washing, close all zippers, open the drawstrings, and turn the sleeping bag inside out. A washing machine with at least 7kg capacity is required. The gentlest cleaning method is handwashing in warm water with synthetic fiber detergent. After washing, rinse several times to remove detergent residues. Spin at a maximum of 500 rpm, then air dry – avoid direct sunlight. Machine drying is possible on very low heat in the gentlest program. Shake the bag during drying; for heavy sleeping bags over 2kg, an industrial dryer is recommended.
Proper storage
G-LOFT sleeping bags should always be stored uncompressed to maintain the insulation performance of the filling. The ideal storage method is hanging, open, or with unzipped closures in a large mesh bag such as the Carinthia Storage Bag Net in a dry, well-ventilated area. The filling needs enough space to expand and recover. The stuff sack should only be used for transport, never roll the sleeping bag but rather stuff it from the foot end with the zipper open.
