Carinthia HIG 5.0 Trousers Lady – Cold-Weather Trousers for Variable Levels of Exertion
The Carinthia HIG 5.0 Trousers Lady combine high-performance cold protection down to -20°C with a fit specifically adapted to the female anatomy. As a functional complement to the HIG 5.0 Jacket Lady, they protect against heat loss during stationary operational phases while maintaining the mobility required for patrols, marches and tactical changes of position.
For the fifth generation, these highly insulated trousers have been comprehensively adapted to changing activity levels and professional operational procedures. Fully separable side zippers, newly designed suspenders, durable reinforcements and a raised rear waistband combine quick handling with a consistently comfortable fit.Anatomical Fit
The close-fitting, tailored cut takes the proportions of the female body into account and provides a functional fit with a feminine silhouette. The trousers fit securely around the waist, hips and legs without restricting freedom of movement during dynamic operational activities.
The anatomical adaptation keeps the insulating construction evenly positioned against the body during movement. Excess material is reduced while sufficient freedom of movement is maintained during marching, kneeling, sitting and working in a crouched position.
For Changing Activity Levels Down to -20°C
The HIG 5.0 Trousers Lady are designed for operational profiles in which physically active periods and extended stationary phases alternate regularly. They support the required mobility during patrols, marches and changes of position while reliably retaining heat during observation, security and rest phases.
Combined with the HIG 5.0 Jacket Lady, they create a coordinated full-body High Insulation system. This system is particularly suitable for cold operational environments in which reliable cold protection and freedom of movement are equally essential.
Fully Opening Side Construction
The side zippers extending along the entire length of the legs allow both trouser legs to be opened completely. This enables the HIG 5.0 Trousers Lady to be put on or removed quickly without having to take off tactical or winter boots first.
Tactical equipment already being worn does not need to be removed completely for the clothing change either. The trousers can therefore be added at short notice as an additional insulation layer as soon as falling temperatures or an upcoming stationary phase require greater cold protection.
Lateral Two-Way Zippers with Wind Protection
The fully separable side closures are designed as two-way zippers. They can be opened from different directions depending on the operational situation, clothing and equipment and facilitate access to the layers worn underneath.
Wind protection integrated along the zippers limits the ingress of cold air. When the trousers are closed, their thermal protection therefore remains as consistent as possible, even in strong winds.
New Suspenders for a Controlled Fit
The new suspender construction stabilizes the insulated trousers during active movement and supports the anatomical women’s fit. It ensures a secure fit during marches, while kneeling and when transitioning between standing, seated and crouched positions.
The even support reduces slipping during extended operational periods and under changing movement intensity. At the same time, it improves comfort when combined with functional underwear, winter clothing and tactical equipment.
Protection for the Kidneys and Lower Back
The raised rear waistband reliably covers the sensitive kidney and lower back area. Its extended construction maintains the overlap between the trousers and outer garments during movement and while kneeling or crouching.
This prevents an exposed gap from forming between the individual clothing layers during changes of position. Combined with the HIG 5.0 Jacket Lady, it creates the most enclosed possible insulation zone around the core of the body while also limiting the ingress of cold air.
Reinforced Areas for High Durability
Durable reinforcements at the knees and seat increase the resistance of particularly exposed contact zones. They protect the outer material against premature wear caused by the ground, vehicles or equipment during repeated kneeling, extended sitting and activities close to the ground.
The leg openings and ankle areas also feature additional reinforcements. These account for the mechanical stress caused by tactical boots, rough terrain and repeated contact between the trouser legs during extended marches.
G-LOFT Insulation and Durable Material Construction
The G-LOFT insulation with 125 g/m² creates a high-performance thermal barrier for operations at temperatures down to -20°C. It retains the body heat generated during active phases and supports cold protection when movement decreases or extended stationary periods begin.
The synthetic insulation material is made from 100% polyester and retains its thermal performance even when exposed to moisture. This ensures that the trousers remain reliably operational under changing levels of physical exertion, in snow, light moisture and during extended periods outdoors.
The windproof and highly water-repellent Carinthia SOF 2L outer fabric made from 100% polyamide protects the insulation layer against cold air and weather conditions. It keeps snow and light moisture away from the internal construction and supports the long-term retention of the thermal barrier.
In strong winds, the perceived temperature can be considerably lower than the measured ambient temperature. The windproof construction reduces this additional cooling effect and helps maintain the thermal performance of the G-LOFT insulation under exposed conditions.
The lining made from 100% polyamide complements the durable overall construction and makes the trousers easier to put on and remove over additional clothing layers. This combination of materials combines moisture-resistant insulation with durable weather protection and functional comfort.
Secure Storage at the Rear
A seat pocket with a concealed zipper provides protected storage for flat, important items or objects that must not be lost. The closure reliably keeps the contents inside the pocket during active movement and frequent changes of position.
The additional zipper garage covers the slider when closed. This reduces the risk of accidental opening and provides better protection for the zipper against snow, dirt and mechanical stress.
With a weight of approximately 710 g in size M, the trousers combine high insulation performance with an overall weight suitable for movement-oriented applications. Their packed size of approximately 18 × 31 cm enables compact transport in an operational backpack, winter luggage or a vehicle.
