Directly against the skin or as an additional insulating layer: The Brynje Tactical Classic Shirt can fulfil different roles within a clothing system. This version of the solid-knit merino shirt from the Classic range is intended for professional users in law enforcement and the military. It is suitable for use throughout all four seasons.
Wearable as a base layer or midlayer
The breathable, insulating knit supports moisture transfer and feels soft against the skin, making the shirt suitable as a base layer. Worn over mesh underwear, it serves as a midlayer and adds insulation. The solid-knit construction makes Classic a versatile addition to the Brynje layering system.
Merino wool for extended wear
Brynje combines 80% merino wool with 20% polyamide to pair the soft feel of wool with increased durability. Odour retention remains low even after extended wear, so airing is often sufficient between washes. The total weight is 220 g in size M.
Long cut with freedom of arm movement
The close-fitting unisex design and long cut are suited to use within a layering system. The stretch fabric follows the body’s shape, while raglan sleeves allow freedom of arm movement. Flatlock seams keep friction at the seam lines low and support next-to-skin comfort.

The Brynje ranges at a glance
Wool Thermo combines merino wool with an open mesh construction and is particularly suited to low to moderate activity in cool to cold conditions. Super Thermo uses synthetic mesh to transfer moisture and heat during varying levels of exertion in cold or wet weather. For cold conditions, Arctic combines an inner mesh layer with a warm wool outer layer. Classic offers versatile, solid-knit merino base layers that can be worn directly against the skin or over a mesh layer.
Care instructions
Dry and air the garments after use. Washing is not necessary after every wear. Wash as needed to remove sweat and salt residues. Machine wash only on the wool cycle at the temperature specified on the care label, up to a maximum of 40 °C. Use a wool detergent without enzymes or bleach, dose sparingly and do not overload the drum. Do not use fabric softener, soak or treat with chlorine.
After washing, gently reshape the garment while still damp and preferably dry it flat. Do not hang heavy, dripping-wet garments on a hanger, as they may stretch out of shape. Do not tumble dry.
