A warm foundation for a layered clothing system
One layer, two ways to wear it: The Brynje Tactical Classic Longs can be worn directly against the skin or over mesh base layer bottoms. With its solid merino knit, these long base layer bottoms from the Classic range complement the clothing systems of professional users in law enforcement and the military. They are designed for a variety of activities throughout all four seasons.
A soft feel and a durable fibre blend
Brynje supplements the high wool content with polyamide: 80% merino wool and 20% polyamide provide a soft feel against the skin and increased durability. The breathable knit transfers moisture and contributes to thermal insulation. The fabric retains little odour even during extended use, so thorough airing is often sufficient between washes. At 90 g in size M, the bottoms remain lightweight.
A close fit with flat seams
The long unisex design fits snugly against the body. The stretch fabric adapts to the body’s shape and accommodates movement. A 4 cm wide elastic waistband provides a secure fit. The Flatlock seams lie flat to reduce friction and chafing during wear.
Additional insulation as needed
As a base layer, the Tactical Classic Longs provides a soft, solid-knit layer directly against the skin. Worn over mesh base layer bottoms, it serves as an insulating midlayer. Its position within the layering system can therefore be adapted to the level of warmth required.

The Brynje ranges at a glance
Wool Thermo combines merino wool with an open mesh construction and is particularly suited to low to moderate activity in cool to cold conditions. Super Thermo uses synthetic mesh to transfer moisture and heat during varying levels of exertion in cold or wet weather. For cold conditions, Arctic combines an inner mesh layer with a warm wool outer layer. Classic offers versatile, solid-knit merino base layers that can be worn directly against the skin or over a mesh layer.
Care instructions
Dry and air the garments after use. Washing is not necessary after every wear. Wash as needed to remove sweat and salt residues. Machine wash only on the wool cycle at the temperature specified on the care label, up to a maximum of 40 °C. Use a wool detergent without enzymes or bleach, dose sparingly and do not overload the drum. Do not use fabric softener, soak or treat with chlorine.
After washing, gently reshape the garment while still damp and preferably dry it flat. Do not hang heavy, dripping-wet garments on a hanger, as they may stretch out of shape. Do not tumble dry.
