Description
A warm finishing layer for cold operations
The Brynje Tactical Arctic Neck completes the clothing system around the neck with a two-layer wool construction. This neck gaiter from the Arctic range combines an airy lining with a solid-knit outer layer and can be adjusted using a drawstring. Its Tactical version complements the cold-weather equipment of professional users in law enforcement and the military.
Two structures for warmth retention and moisture transfer
Fine merino wool mesh sits next to the skin, its strands creating only a few contact points. The spaces between them leave room for warm air. The solid wool knit above adds insulation to these air pockets, making the construction suitable for very cold conditions.
During exertion, water vapour can pass through the open mesh layer. The outer wool layer absorbs the moisture and releases it through evaporation. Both layers therefore work together to retain warmth and transfer moisture without requiring an inner surface that lies flat against the skin.
Soft wool blend with an adjustable opening
The inner and outer fabrics each contain 80% merino wool and 20% polyamide. The merino wool provides a soft, itch-free feel against the skin, while polyamide increases durability. With a total weight of 75 g, the Arctic Neck adds a lightweight insulating layer around the neck.
The opening can be adjusted using the drawstring. Flatlock seams limit friction at the joins and support comfort during direct skin contact.

The Brynje ranges at a glance
Wool Thermo combines merino wool with an open mesh construction and is particularly suited to low to moderate activity in cool to cold conditions. Super Thermo uses synthetic mesh to transfer moisture and heat during varying levels of exertion in cold or wet weather. For cold conditions, Arctic combines an inner mesh layer with a warm wool outer layer. Classic offers versatile, solid-knit merino base layers that can be worn directly against the skin or over a mesh layer.
Care instructions
Dry and air the garments after use. Washing is not necessary after every wear. Wash as needed to remove sweat and salt residues. Machine wash only on the wool cycle at the temperature specified on the care label, up to a maximum of 40 °C. Use a wool detergent without enzymes or bleach, dose sparingly and do not overload the drum. Do not use fabric softener, soak or treat with chlorine.
After washing, gently reshape the garment while still damp and preferably dry it flat. Do not hang heavy, dripping-wet garments on a hanger, as they may stretch out of shape. Do not tumble dry.
