The softshell jacket, which was developed specifically for professional use, brings optimal conditions for particularly movement-intensive use and really delivers when it comes to performance: As a midlayer or as a thermoregulating thermal jacket, the Practitioner AR jacket is an ideal choice for users who place the highest demands on their equipment.
With a water-repellent surface coating, a lightly insulated midlayer and excellent breathability, the midlayer is designed to provide ideal thermal management and guarantee unrestricted freedom of movement at all times. Whether in the great outdoors or in urban environments, the Practitioner AR Jacket provides protection while being one of the lightest softshell jackets on the market.
Performance materials in combination
Fortius Air 50
The technological highlight of the classic midlayer lies in the perfect match of the material, which ensures optimal breathability and strong weather protection.
The shell is made of Arcteryx's proprietary Fortius Air 50 fabric, a highly breathable fabric designed specifically for use in extreme weather conditions. It is made of 84% nylon and 16% elastane and is extremely durable and long lasting.
While the Fortius Air 50 fabric wicks moisture and vapor to the outside, the Durable Water Repellent (DWR) coating on the upper provides reliable protection from moisture and humidity. This simultaneously ensures excellent breathability and keeps the body dry and comfortable.
Octa Loft Insulation
To the complex design of the outer material is the insulating layer is added: the hydrophobic Octa Loft insulation, also an in-house development, is a synthetic insulation consisting of eight hollow fibers. The special arrangement of the fibers creates unique air pockets that provide excellent thermal performance. The fiber structure of the insulation thus makes it particularly lightweight and compressible, while at the same time providing excellent breathability and wicking moisture away from the body. The result is a perfect balance between thermal performance and comfort.
Combined with Fortius Air 50 fabric, the Practitioner AR Jacket becomes an unbeatable shield against the elements. The DWR coating on the shell protects against moisture and wetness, while the Fortius Air 50 fabric wicks away moisture and vapor, and the Octa Loft insulation provides optimal thermal performance.
Hem and pockets
The jacket features a long No Slip Zip front zipper that allows it to be fully opened; the zipper closes with the stand-up collar. The zipper is also protected against wind and moisture penetration thanks to the covers inside. The two chest pockets and two zippered hand pockets provide ample storage space for essential gear, while the jacket's slightly tapered hem provides extra protection to keep the back warm even in kneeling or sitting positions
For cold and wet weather protection, the jacket's sleeves feature stretch knit cuffs that can be adjusted to fit with Cohaesive hem adjusters. The hem of the jacket tapers slightly toward the front, keeping the back covered and warm even when kneeling or sitting.
