Cold Protection Pants for Authorities
The Cold WX Pant LT Men's (Gen2) by Arc’teryx LEAF combines low weight with convincing insulation. Compact and easy to put on, these winter pants are a powerful tool to be well-equipped for low temperatures in winter without overburdening your travel pack or deployment bag.
Functional Features in an Ergonomic Cut
Arc’teryx's experience is reflected in the design, which does not restrict agility, allowing to maintain a tactical advantage in quick actions. The fly with snap buttons and a zipper facilitates opening the pants even with winter gloves. A narrow belt integrated into the waist ensures the pants stay securely on the hips. Length adjustments on the sides act as an additional safeguard to the continuous side zipper. Suspender loops in the waist allow for the addition of separately available suspenders. The leg ends with an elastic drawstring to keep warm air inside. Excess cord is routed internally upwards to avoid unintentional snagging in the underbrush. To keep gloves, winter hats, and other items readily accessible, the thigh pockets are spacious and the zipper prevents snow from entering.
Versatile Side Zipper for Flexibility
To be prepared for various winter situations, the side zipper runs the full length and is separable. This allows putting on the pants even when wearing snowshoes, skis, or crampons. Or, it can be opened from the bottom to pull the winter pants over boots. The second slider from the top enables access to underlying pockets, quick ventilation during steep climbs or when riding in a vehicle with the heater on full blast. When returning to the cold, the pants can be quickly put back on properly. The zipper is supported at the bottom with a snap button, and a belt with a flat buckle at the top ensures a secure fit.
Synthetic Material Combination
The impregnated 40D polyester fabric in plain weave, combined with the GORE WINDSTOPPER membrane to create a reliably protective outer layer that retains heat even in chilly winds. Highly stressed areas such as knees, buttocks, and ankles are additionally reinforced. The inner material is a thin RipStop fabric that allows for quick moisture wicking. For functional insulation filling, Arc’teryx utilizes Climashield Prism with 85g/m² with fiber impregnation, capable of handling moisture to remain optimally protected against the elements in missions with variable intensity.
