High-Performance Midlayer Pants for Tactical Cold Weather Operations
The Arc'teryx Leaf Atom Pant LT is an ultra-lightweight, insulated midlayer pant designed for military and law enforcement operations in cold and variable conditions. Thanks to its compact pack size, low weight, and thoughtful construction, these pants integrate perfectly into multi-layer clothing systems and meet the highest standards in insulation, freedom of movement, and weather protection.
Durable Ripstop Fabric with DWR Treatment for Reliable Weather Protection
The outer fabric is made from a high-strength, mechanically stretchable mini ripstop nylon, which is particularly resistant to tearing and abrasion due to its structure. In addition, the surface is treated with a DWR (Durable Water Repellent) coating that makes the fabric water-repellent and effectively prevents moisture from penetrating.
Even in light rain or wet snow, the material stays dry and reliably protects the wearer. These properties make the Atom Pant LT suitable for moderate weather conditions even without an additional hardshell layer, while maintaining high breathability.
Synthetic Insulation with Climate Protection – Even in Damp Conditions
Warmth is provided by the innovative Climashield 2oz Combat Fibrefill Insulation – a synthetic insulation material also treated with a DWR coating. It offers excellent thermal efficiency while being highly resistant to moisture, so that performance is not significantly reduced even when wet.
Compared to traditional down, this fiber is much more durable, dries faster, and is easier to care for – a decisive advantage in changing climate conditions.
Maximum Freedom of Movement and Mission-Focused Fit
The Atom Pant LT was purpose-built for missions where thermal insulation must be combined with high mobility. Pre-shaped knee and seat areas as well as an elastic, adjustable waistband ensure a close but non-restrictive fit. The pants remain comfortable and functional even during extended movement or static positions.
Thanks to their optimized cut, the pants are suitable for both stationary tasks in low temperatures and high-intensity activities with high energy output. Their versatility makes them the ideal addition for winter missions, as well as for trekking, skiing, or other outdoor excursions.
Quick On and Off – Even with Boots
A key feature is the full-length side zippers on the pant legs, allowing for quick on and off without removing footwear. This function is essential during dynamic mission changes or sudden shifts in weather conditions.
The zippers are backed with laminated wind flaps to prevent cold air from entering. A stretch snow gaiter at the leg openings reliably protects against snow and cold, especially during movement-intensive operations in winter environments.

The Atom Pant LT is part of the LEAF series and meets all the requirements of modern tactical apparel. With an elastic, adjustable nylon waistband, it flexibly adapts to different body types.
