Housing
Measuring just 92 x 41 x 21 mm, the SUMMITAIR is exceptionally compact. Its carbon fiber housing combines a lightweight design with the durability required for demanding outdoor activities. Weighing only 135 g, the power bank can easily be stored in a jacket pocket, attached to a hip belt, or packed into a touring backpack. This makes it a convenient and unobtrusive power source, even on extended trips.
Protection
The Nitecore SUMMITAIR features an IPX8 waterproof rating, making it suitable for use in changing weather conditions. Its cold-resistant construction truly comes into its own at low temperatures. The power bank can deliver power even at temperatures as low as -40 Degree. It also complies with UN38.3 requirements and is suitable for air travel, subject to the regulations of the respective airline.
Technology
Charging Technology
The SUMMITAIR features two USB-C ports, allowing two devices to be charged simultaneously. When using a single port, it delivers an output of up to 22.5 watts. When both ports are used at the same time, a combined output of up to 15 watts is available. The power bank supports the fast-charging protocols USB Power Delivery, Quick Charge 3.0 (QC 3.0), and SCP. This makes it suitable for charging smartphones, action cameras, and other compatible USB devices on the go.
For efficient power transfer, Nitecore uses an 8.4-volt high-voltage platform with an integrated Active Balancing Battery Management System (BMS). This design achieves an energy density of up to 213.3 mWh/g, combining high capacity with exceptionally low weight.
Power Supply
Inside the SUMMITAIR is an integrated 8,000 mAh battery with a rated capacity of 4,700 mAh at 5 V and 3 A. The power bank itself is recharged via USB-C with an input power of up to 20 watts. Integrated protection circuits provide protection against overcharging, over-discharging, overvoltage, short circuits, and excessive temperatures.
Another practical feature is the included USB-C charging cable with carrying loop. It serves both as a charging cable and an attachment option, allowing it to be carried directly with the power bank.
Operation
The SUMMITAIR is designed with winter use in mind. Its physical control button can be operated even while wearing ski gloves. A short press activates the battery level indicator and the dynamic RGB port lights. These make it easier to locate the two USB-C ports in the dark or under poor lighting conditions, ensuring straightforward operation while on the move.
