Precise Velocity Measurement for Dedicated Shooters
With the Garmin Xero C1 Pro Chronograph, Garmin once again hits the mark and sets new standards in the measurement of projectile velocities. As small as an action camera, this accurate measuring device impresses with its intuitive operation and quick setup time. Small and lightweight enough to become a permanent part of your gun bag or range bag, the Xero C1 Pro Chronograph aids in capturing shot data to optimize shooting performance and precision in long-range shooting, reloading, archery, and air gun sports.
Compact Design and Modern Technology
The robust housing, protected against water with an IPX7 standard, is designed for both indoor and outdoor use and requires no external power supply or cables. Operation via buttons on the top makes it easy to use with gloves and in wet conditions. The Xero C1 Pro is a transmitter/receiver with an integrated antenna that reliably detects shots up to 1524 m/s using Doppler radar. Since the measurement is not triggered acoustically, it is fully compatible with suppressors, muzzle brakes, and quiet calibers. The ¼-inch thread on the bottom can be used for the included mini-tripod as well as other tripods, mounts, or ARCA-Swiss adapters. A permanently integrated lithium-ion battery promises an active runtime of up to 6 hours or 2,000 shots. An automatic power-saving mode activates after 30 minutes without a shot, extending battery life for long days at the range. The chrono can be operated at temperatures from -10 to 55°C but should only be charged between 0 and 45°C to maintain battery performance. For charging, a USB-C port with a protective cap is located on the side, and a USB-C to USB-A cable is included in the package. The monochrome MIP display, with adjustable brightness and transflective properties, ensures reliable readability in direct sunlight and in darkened shooting cinemas.
Turn On, Set Up, Align, and Shoot – It's That Simple!
Garmin places a clear focus on the ease of use of the chronograph. The device is turned on, the desired session and measurement range are selected, and then it is placed in the appropriate area next to or below the weapon. Instructions for this are displayed directly on the screen. For competitions with changing stances and shooting positions, the device can also be mounted on the firearm using separately available adapters. For successful measurement, the smooth backside must have a clear view of the target and the display must face the shooter. The device automatically checks for other devices in the vicinity and adjusts the frequency range to avoid interference with other devices. With fine sensor technology, the radar reliably counts the shots and remains undisturbed by neighboring shooters. The muzzle velocity is measured, and from this, the standard deviation, extreme spread, average velocity of the series, and deviation from the average are calculated. Additionally, the minimum and maximum speed values are recorded from the ongoing shot list. In the pro-settings, the entry for the projectile weight can be activated, with which the kinetic energy and the power factor of the last shot are calculated. Data Transfer to Smartphone
The internal memory can store 50 sessions with 100 shots each. Individual shots can be deleted directly from the series on the device. To export the shot data to a smartphone, compatible iPhones and Android smartphones can be connected via Bluetooth using the free Garmin ShotView app. In the app, shots can be marked as cold and oil shots, individual shots can be excluded from the average calculation, and notes can be added to each shot or the entire series. Here, details about the projectile, weather conditions, or point of impact can be noted to facilitate comprehensive data analysis. Thus, the Xero C1 Pro becomes an efficient tool for determining the correct amount of powder or configuring the arrow.
