Description
Bushcraft Backpack for Versatile Outdoor Tours
The Tatonka Pyrox 45+10 BC feels at home where tours get longer, trails become rougher, and gear needs to perform reliably. Whether it’s a bushcraft camp beyond established paths, a multi-day trekking tour, or an improvised setup away from official routes, this backpack stands out with durable materials, high carrying comfort, and a modular attachment system for a wide range of outdoor scenarios.
With a 45 + 10 liter capacity, durable Cordura fabric, and a flexibly adjustable carrying system, the Pyrox delivers exactly the features that matter outdoors: stable load transfer, quick access to gear, and enough options to expand the setup individually.
Durable Materials for Demanding Outdoor Use
The backpack is primarily made from CORDURA 500 den, a high-strength Nylon 6.6 fabric with excellent abrasion and tear resistance.
The construction is complemented by Tex Cover Recycled, a lightweight fabric made from recycled polyester with a waterproof PU coating. The material has a softer feel, reduces overall weight, and at the same time enhances the weather resistance of the system. The entire backpack features a PFC/PFAS-free finish.
Frame Comfort Light System – Efficient Load Transfer with Ventilation
The newly developed Frame Comfort Light carrying system was specifically designed for longer tours with medium to heavy loads. A lightweight spring steel frame provides stability and efficiently transfers the load to the padded hip belt, noticeably relieving strain on the shoulders and back.
The ventilated back panel improves air circulation during movement-intensive tours and reduces heat buildup during prolonged wear. Particularly practical: the system can be continuously adjusted to different back lengths, making it suitable for both short and long torsos.
Padded shoulder straps, load control straps, and an ergonomically shaped hip belt with redirected tension support stable load control even in rough terrain. The carrying system is designed for pack weights of up to approximately 15 kg.
Thoughtful Organization and Quick Access
The main compartment of the Pyrox 45+10 BC features a separately accessible bottom compartment as well as a large front opening that allows quick access to gear without unloading the entire backpack. Additional features include a height-adjustable lid compartment, an elastic side pocket, and a zippered pocket on one hip fin.
Further equipment includes a hydration system preparation, gear loops, trekking pole and ice axe attachments, as well as an integrated first aid compartment. An olive-green rain cover provides additional protection for the gear during persistent rainfall.
MOLLE-Compatible Bushcraft Setup
For users of modular gear, the Pyrox offers an extensive MOLLE-compatible attachment system. Corresponding loops are located on the front, sides, and one hip fin for attaching additional pouches or equipment.
This allows the backpack to be flexibly adapted to different tour profiles – from a minimalist trekking setup to an expanded bushcraft loadout with additional pouches, tools, or organizational accessories.
Field of Use
With its balanced combination of carrying comfort, durability, and modular expandability, the Tatonka Pyrox 45+10 BC is suitable for multi-day trekking tours and demanding outdoor applications. Its slim profile supports freedom of movement in dense terrain and ensures controlled carrying behavior.
