The SI Ballistic M Frame ALPHA in Terrain Tan is part of the Ballistic ALPHA System – developed to meet the complex demands of modern operators. This modular system combines maximum protection, uncompromising optical precision, and versatile configuration in a lightweight, durable, and field-ready design. Whether in urban operations, extreme weather environments, or high-intensity missions, the ALPHA eyewear delivers the reliability and flexibility professional users require.
Modular Design of the ALPHA System
The ALPHA ecosystem is a three-part, mission-specific system consisting of a frame, gasket, and goggle that all work with a single, interchangeable lens. This modular approach allows for fast, tool-free configurations depending on mission parameters, infiltration method, or operational environment. Replacement lenses are available and compatible with the Halo/Helo platform, allowing the system to scale and adapt to changing requirements.
Frame Construction and Ergonomics
The frame, made of stress-resistant O-Matter, provides high durability at minimal weight – the entire system weighs approximately 1.05 oz (~30 g). The thin-stem technology ensures compatibility with over-ear hearing protection and communication systems without creating pressure points or interference. The ergonomic design guarantees a stable, secure fit during high-movement scenarios or extended wear. The ALPHA is fully compatible with MICH, ACH, CVC, PASGT, Ops-Core, Team Wendy, and Crye Precision helmets, as well as helmet-mounted night vision devices.
Plutonite – High-Purity Polycarbonate
All lenses of the SI Ballistic M Frame ALPHA are made from high-purity Plutonite – an optical-grade polycarbonate engineered specifically for tactical applications. This material minimizes optical distortions and provides reliable impact resistance against high-mass and high-velocity impacts, while remaining extremely lightweight for fatigue-free wear.
The integrated UV protection filters 100% of UVA, UVB, and UVC rays as well as harmful blue light up to 400 nm directly within the lens material, eliminating the need for additional coatings. This ensures long-lasting protection, even if the lens surface shows signs of wear.
High Definition Optics (HDO) with Polaric Ellipsoid Geometry
HDO technology optimizes light transmission through precise lens geometry, ensuring that light enters the eye in a straight line. The result is distortion-free, crystal-clear vision across the entire lens – critical for accurate depth perception, quick reactions, and precise target acquisition.
The Polaric Ellipsoid geometry maintains optical precision across the full field of view by shaping the lens curvature to deliver consistent sharpness and color integrity, even in peripheral areas. This reduces edge distortion and ensures uniform optical performance.
Hybrid Lens Geometry – Comfort & Peripheral Awareness
The hybrid lens shape balances protection, field of view, and wearing comfort. The intentional curvature expands peripheral vision and wraps the face more closely, without compromising optical clarity. This design ensures broader situational awareness while keeping the lens secure and eliminating pressure points.
Anti-Fog System – Clear Vision in Any Situation
The inner lens surface features a permanent anti-fog coating that prevents moisture condensation and visual obstruction. This is enhanced by a flush-mount lens design that creates a Venturi effect during movement, improving airflow and actively channeling away moisture.
Additionally, the three-point retention system ensures consistent airflow across the lens surface, further improving anti-fog performance. An Anti-Fog Recharge Kit is included to maintain the coating’s performance over time.
Enhanced Protection & Ballistic Certification
The SI Ballistic M Frame ALPHA is ballistically certified and meets the stringent ANSI Z87.1-2003/2010 and MIL-PRF-32432A standards. These certifications guarantee protection against high-mass and high-velocity impacts as well as fragmentation threats encountered during explosions or ballistic events.
When paired with the optional SI Helo Gasket, the system provides an additional seal against high-speed air, dust, sand, and debris. This added barrier is invaluable during infiltration and exfiltration operations in rotor wash environments or dust-heavy zones.
Comfort and Stability
The hydrophilic Unobtainium nose pad enhances grip under wet conditions, keeping the eyewear stable even during high-intensity movement. Combined with the lightweight frame and ergonomic shape, this ensures long-lasting comfort for extended missions.
Compatibility and Accessories
The tool-free lens mounting system allows for fast lens changes between mission profiles. The eyewear is fully compatible with helmet-mounted NVG systems and supports the Oakley Rx carrier for prescription inserts. Replacement lenses and laser-specific configurations are available, and the Helo Gasket provides additional environmental sealing.
