With full tactical functionality and a civilian look at the same time, the shorts are the no-brainer for those who spend their summers between civilian use, trips to the lake and bushcraft weekender.
Durable Polycotton Ripstop fabric
Polycotton Ripstop is a blend of polyester and cotton processed with a ripstop weave. This special weave involves weaving thick threads into the fabric at regular intervals, creating small squares or rectangles that strengthen the fabric and prevent tears or holes from spreading through the fabric. The ripstop construction makes the fabric extra durable and resistant to tears and wear. At the same time, it is comfortable to wear, quick-drying, and offers some breathability.
Pocket placement and fit
The UTS shorts were designed with a special cut and smart pocket arrangement so that the pants are civilian and unobtrusive, though still capable of complementing full tactical gear. The elastic belt with hook-and-loop closure, for example, is ideal for wide belts such as EDC, UTL or Cobra Belts with its 50 mm wide belt loops. There is no worry about the shorts slipping during wear, even when the belt is heavily loaded, because the cut, which is based on classic blue jeans, prevents slippage, just as the flexible waistband makes the shorts ideal for fitting to the waist.
The pockets of the UTS shorts are strategically placed to carry and store equipment near the center of the body, around the hips and waist. The front and rear pockets have reinforced edges so that lamp or knife clips can be attached. The two front pockets close securely with hook-and-loop and provide enough room for a smartphone or AR/AK magazine. The shallow appearing zippered thigh pockets are not to be underestimated in depth - they offer enough space for a pocket knife or smartphone. For additional storage, there are two wide back pockets that integrate two narrower pockets.
The inside length of the pant leg is 8.5 inches, making the shorts an ideal length for high-movement use.
