The UTP (Urban Tactical Pants) Polycotton Ripstop Pants are not by chance one of the favorites in the Helikon-Tex range. These tactical pants are so uncompromising in their interplay of fit, durability and multifunctional pocket configuration that they are ready for any mission: whether it's a bushcraft trip or a day at the shooting range, whether it's tactical use in rough terrain or in urban environments.
Material combination
The UTP pants owe their robust nature and unrestricted freedom of movement to the smart Polycotton Ripstop material mix of 60% cotton, 37% polyester and 2% elastane. The polyester and elastane content provides more flexibility and thus freedom of movement while the large cotton content provides the robust structure.
Anatomical cut
The material is supported in its properties by the clever cut, which was developed according to the anatomical conditions of the body in motion. Like a classic pair of jeans, the waistband and hips fit snugly without slipping, while the knees and buttocks regions are tailored for high-movement uses that involve a lot of kneeling or sitting. Anatomically stitched and reinforced knees not only free up running movement, but also harbor the space inside for low profile insert pads.
For an ideal fit, the elastic waistband is adjustable with hook-and-loop closure. So whether the outdoor pants are worn with an EDC, UTL or Cobra Belt, it doesn't matter to some extent for the fit. There is still room for a belt, as there are wide belt loops for a belt up to 50 mm wide. A cord run at the leg hem is also provided for customizable fit and is especially valuable when wearing the pants over combat or mission boots.
Cargo pockets
In addition to the two front pockets typical of a pair of jeans, the versatile pocket arrangement brings one front pocket each that closes with hook-and-loop. This is just large enough to accommodate a smartphone or AR/AK magazine. To the side of this are one zippered thigh pocket each, which are so shallow in profile that their depth is not visible at first glance. Two rear slip pockets complete the cargo constellation. The edges of the front and rear pockets are reinforced so that the clips of lamps or knives do not slip but stay in place.
The UTP (Urban Tactical Pants) Polycotton Canvas Pants are one of the favorites among tactical operatives and bushcrafters. In fact, it delivers on so many promises at once that it's hard to replace as a tactical pant or combat pant, even though the "urban" in the name definitely translates to civilian functionality in everyday life or on the job.
