Description
Rugged Bushcraft Backpack with Military Heritage
The Bergen Backpack by Helikon-Tex is a compact and extremely durable backpack inspired by classic military models from World War II. With a main compartment capacity of approximately 18 liters and a total volume of 25 liters, the Bergen is ideal for bushcraft trips, day missions, or minimalist bivouacs. Made from 500D Cordura, the model is particularly abrasion-resistant and weatherproof.
Structured Layout with Clearly Defined Compartments
The Bergen daypack features three large external pockets: one front pocket and two side pockets, all equipped with drawstring closures and flap lids, secured by durable Fastex buckles. Directly above these external pockets runs a MOLLE/PALS strap that can be used for attaching additional pouches, gloves, or tools, or covered with a fabric flap when not in use.
On the top lid of the daypack, there is a flat zippered pocket for small essentials. Inside the main compartment, the backpack offers a dedicated sleeve for a hydration system and a flat internal zippered pocket for documents or valuables.
Bushcraft Tool Management and Attachment Options
At the bottom, there are two pass-through sleeves for tools such as axes and three non-pass-through sleeves for knives or saws. This configuration ensures tidy storage and quick access to essential field gear. The reinforced bottom is also equipped with two webbing loops to securely fasten a sleeping bag, poncho, or jacket.
Modular Expandability and Field Readiness
The height-adjustable main compartment features a chimney-style drawstring closure, which increases weather protection and expands the pack's volume when needed. The MOLLE/PALS surface allows for tactical expansion with additional pouches—but can be concealed for a more traditional bushcraft profile. This makes the Bergen backpack suitable for users transitioning between tactical setups and nature-oriented minimalism.
