  Ich bestelle nun seit einigen Jahren bei TacWrk und bin nach wie vor damit sehr zufrieden. Der Support antwortet auf Fragen binnen eines Tages und versucht alle Wünsche zu erfüllen. Das einzige was mir aufgefallen ist ist, dass nicht alle Artikel immer vorrätig sind.

  Precise GPS Navigation and Satellite Communication

  The new Garmin GPSMAP H1i Plus combines precise GPS navigation with advanced inReach Plus satellite technology in a rugged handheld outdoor device. Equipped with a large color touchscreen, preloaded maps, and GPS technology, the device provides extensive navigation and orientation functions for challenging terrain, hiking trips, and professional operations.

  Construction

  Rugged Design

  The GPSMAP H1i Plus is designed for use in changing environmental conditions. Its rugged MIL-STD-810-tested housing meets relevant testing requirements for temperature resistance, shock resistance, and water resistance. The IP67 protection rating ensures protection against dust and temporary immersion in water. With compact dimensions and a weight of 290 grams, the handheld GPS device can be easily stowed in outdoor equipment. An integrated mounting system on the back of the housing and the included webbing loop with carabiner provide various carrying options.

  Display and Controls

  The 3.5-inch transflective TFT color display with a resolution of 282 x 470 pixels provides a clear overview of maps, navigation data, and messages. Chemically strengthened glass protects the screen surface, while the display technology ensures good readability even in direct sunlight. The hybrid control system combines a touchscreen with physical buttons, allowing users to navigate menus and maps even in adverse weather conditions or while wearing gloves. A customizable shortcut button provides direct access to frequently used functions.

  Technology

  Satellite Communication

  Integrated inReach Plus technology enables two-way satellite communication when cellular coverage is unavailable. In addition to conventional text messages, the GPSMAP H1i Plus supports sending and receiving individual and group messages containing up to 1,600 characters. Photos and voice messages with a duration of up to 30 seconds can also be exchanged.

  Important: These functions allow users to transmit location information, brief situation reports, or images directly from remote areas. An active inReach subscription is required to use satellite communication features.

  GPS Navigation and Mapping

  The Garmin GPSMAP H1i Plus uses multiband GPS and multi-GNSS for positioning. By processing signals from multiple satellite systems and frequency bands, the device supports accurate location tracking, particularly in topographically challenging environments. Preloaded TopoActive maps for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa provide detailed geographical information, including contour lines, bodies of water, coastlines, and prominent terrain features. Global maps and high-resolution satellite imagery are also available and can be downloaded directly to the device via Wi-Fi. The internal storage capacity is 64 GB and can be expanded by up to 1 TB using a microSD card.

  Battery and Runtime

  The integrated rechargeable lithium-ion battery provides a runtime of up to 145 hours when using all satellite systems, including multiband. This figure is based on typical use with Garmin's SatIQ technology. In the power-saving Expedition Mode, battery life can reach up to 840 hours. When recording high-detail activities with inReach tracking at 10-minute intervals, battery life is up to 48 hours. In Expedition Mode with the same tracking interval, a runtime of up to 425 hours is possible. The device is charged via its integrated USB-C port.

  Integrated Cameras and Outdoor Features

  The GPSMAP H1i Plus features two integrated cameras. A 5-megapixel front camera and an 8-megapixel rear camera allow photos to be taken directly with the handheld device. With an active inReach subscription, these images can also be shared via satellite without cellular coverage. Additional navigation tools include a barometric altimeter, a barometer, and an electronic 3-axis compass. An integrated LED flashlight and an audible siren further extend the device's functionality. The GPSMAP H1i Plus also supports voice commands in German, allowing users to perform actions such as starting tracking or taking photos.

  Smart Connectivity and Weather Information

  The Garmin Messenger App allows communication functions to be connected to a compatible smartphone. The Garmin Explore App additionally supports digital route planning, locating geographical points, and sharing planned routes. With the LiveTrack feature, selected contacts can access location information. When cellular coverage is available, the user's position can be tracked in real time. In areas without network coverage, satellite-based location requests are possible through inReach technology. Current weather information can be retrieved through the Garmin Messenger App when a Wi-Fi or cellular connection is available. Alternatively, inReach technology enables weather updates to be received via satellite with an active subscription, including forecasts for the current location or a planned destination.

  Interactive SOS Emergency Function

  In critical situations, the GPSMAP H1i Plus allows users to send an interactive SOS emergency alert via satellite. The emergency alert is transmitted to Garmin Response, an internationally operating emergency coordination center staffed around the clock. Two-way communication allows additional information about the situation to be exchanged and necessary rescue operations to be coordinated.
