Description
Reinforced plate carrier for maximum load distribution
The Crye Precision Cage Plate Carrier, supplied as a set with plate bags, is a modular plate carrier that stands out thanks to its adaptable and structurally rigid construction. The intelligently engineered separation of the harness system and plate compartments, combined with integrated reinforcement, delivers a highly stable carrying experience for extensive setups—from combat-ready infantry roles to heavy breaching applications. Thanks to compatibility with the proven Crye Precision StKSS, part of the load can be transferred to compatible battle belts.
Fine-adjustable harness system
The performance core is the CPC harness system, consisting of individually positionable padding elements, structural reinforcement, and the shoulder straps. The shoulder straps are padded, length-adjustable at the rear via a low-profile metal buckle, and attached at the front using hook-and-loop. Alternatively, the front connection can be fitted with a side-release buckle for easy donning and doffing. The rear section features an integrated quick-release system, which separates the back panel into two parts and allows the vest to be released forward, saving valuable seconds in emergencies. Also located at the rear is the stepless width adjustment using heavy elastic cord, enabling an adaptive fit that can be adjusted while the vest is worn. The side sections are constructed in two parts: a reinforced inner component responsible for the rigid connection between front and rear panels, and a flexible cummerbund that closes the system and provides space for equipment. On both sides, internal pockets accommodate AR magazines or radios. Behind them is the interface for the separately available Crye Precision StKSS. The cummerbund also includes a compartment for side ballistic plates: for size S from 15.2 × 15.2 cm up to 15.2 × 26.6 cm, and for other sizes from 15.2 × 15.2 cm up to 15.2 × 29.2 cm.
Performance-focused construction
The design of the plate compartments is based on years of user experience, resulting in a well-integrated baseline configuration. The compartments designed for stand-alone ballistic plates can be quickly opened from the bottom using hook-and-loop and a pull tab. On the front, full-surface PALS webbing provides the required modularity for customisation with pouches, while a flat admin pocket on the chest sits above three AR magazine pouches integrated into the front flap. Three included retention loops ensure secure magazine retention during dynamic operations. A large loop panel allows the attachment of larger flag patches, while two vertical loops enable integration of chest rigs or PTTs. The rear panel also features PALS and loop surfaces, complemented by zippers for interchangeable back panels to adapt the setup to mission requirements. The rear is completed by an integrated drag handle.
Load relief for the back
To maintain operational capability with heavy setups, the plate carrier is compatible with the Structural Kinetic Support System (StKSS) by Crye Precision. This optional add-on creates a load-bearing connection to compatible belts, transferring part of the weight to the hips and reducing strain on the shoulders and back.
