The Carinthia Wilderness combines reliable thermal protection with a design that allows access to equipment while remaining inside the sleeping bag. This version features a left-hand zipper. The closable arm openings are among the defining features of the Wilderness and distinguish it from traditional mummy sleeping bags. They allow the handling of equipment, the use of light sources, or the operation of communication devices without having to fully open or leave the sleeping bag. This helps retain a large portion of the stored warmth while maintaining operational capability in camp or bivouac environments.Reliable Insulation in Low Temperatures
The G-LOFT insulation consists of 100% polyester and delivers reliable thermal performance even under demanding weather conditions. This is further supported by the integrated Thermoflect technology, which reflects a portion of the body's radiant heat and thereby improves heat retention. In this way, available warmth is used more efficiently and the thermal performance of the sleeping bag is supported in low temperatures.Heat Retention Where It Matters Most
The integrated thermal collar reduces heat loss around the shoulders and neck. In addition, the zipper baffle running along the zipper helps minimize potential cold spots. The anti-snag tape improves zipper operation and prevents the material from being caught during frequent use.Differential Cut and Foot Box Construction
The differential cut supports the effectiveness of the insulation by helping the fill maintain its loft even under pressure. This allows the insulating air layer to remain as consistent as possible. The trapezoidal foot section provides additional space in the lower area of the sleeping bag and supports a comfortable sleeping position during extended stays in the field.Flexible Ventilation in Changing Conditions
The two-way zipper allows the sleeping bag to be opened from either the top or bottom as required. This makes it possible to adapt ventilation to varying temperatures while supporting effective moisture management. Care Instructions for G-LOFT Sleeping Bags
G-LOFT sleeping bags are machine washable (gentle cycle, max. 30°C) and suitable for tumble drying at low temperature. Before washing, close all fasteners, loosen drawcords and turn the sleeping bag inside out. A washing machine with a minimum capacity of 7 kg is required. The gentlest cleaning method remains hand washing in warm water using detergent for synthetic fibers. After washing, rinse several times to remove any detergent residues.
Spin at a maximum of 500 rpm, then air dry – avoid direct sunlight. Machine drying is possible at very low heat on the most gentle setting. Shake the sleeping bag occasionally during drying; for heavy sleeping bags over 2 kg, the use of an industrial dryer is recommended.
Proper Storage for G-LOFT Sleeping Bags
G-LOFT sleeping bags should always be stored uncompressed in order to maintain the insulation performance of the filling. Ideally, store the sleeping bag hanging, laid out flat or with zippers open in a large mesh bag in a dry, well-ventilated area. The insulation requires sufficient space to expand and recover. The compression sack should only be used for transport – do not roll the sleeping bag, but instead stuff it loosely into the sack from the foot end with the zipper open, as repeated rolling stresses the filling in the same areas and may damage the construction.
