Two wool layers for cold conditions
Solid on the outside, open on the inside: The Brynje Tactical Arctic Longs combines warm wool knit and airy merino mesh in a pair of long base layer bottoms. The two-layer construction of the Arctic range is designed for cold operational conditions. This version is intended for professional users in law enforcement and the military who need an insulating foundation beneath their operational clothing.
Merino wool inside and out
A merino wool mesh knit sits against the skin, with a solid wool outer layer above it. Both layers consist of 80% merino wool and 20% polyamide. The polyamide content increases durability, while the soft wool blend insulates even when damp. The total weight is 330 g in size M.
Low odour retention supports extended wear. Thorough airing is therefore often sufficient between washes.
Trapping air, transferring moisture
The inner mesh limits skin contact and creates air pockets that retain warmth. The wool layer above it adds further insulation. The bottoms thus combine two different knit structures in a construction designed for cold conditions.
During physical exertion, moisture passes outwards through the mesh layer as water vapour. The outer wool absorbs it and releases it through evaporation. At the same time, the large mesh openings reduce the inner layer’s tendency to cling to the body.
Regular fit without a fly
The unisex regular fit is complemented by a 4 cm wide elastic waistband. The bottoms are made without a fly. Flat seams help prevent friction at the seam lines and the resulting chafing.

The Brynje ranges at a glance
Wool Thermo combines merino wool with an open mesh construction and is particularly suited to low to moderate activity in cool to cold conditions. Super Thermo uses synthetic mesh to transfer moisture and heat during varying levels of exertion in cold or wet weather. For cold conditions, Arctic combines an inner mesh layer with a warm wool outer layer. Classic offers versatile, solid-knit merino base layers that can be worn directly against the skin or over a mesh layer.
Care instructions
Dry and air the garments after use. Washing is not necessary after every wear. Wash as needed to remove sweat and salt residues. Machine wash only on the wool cycle at the temperature specified on the care label, up to a maximum of 40 °C. Use a wool detergent without enzymes or bleach, dose sparingly and do not overload the drum. Do not use fabric softener, soak or treat with chlorine.
After washing, gently reshape the garment while still damp and preferably dry it flat. Do not hang heavy, dripping-wet garments on a hanger, as they may stretch out of shape. Do not tumble dry.
