  The Assault Shirt AR Gen 2 is probably one of the most extensive updates from Arc`teryx for the year 2021. Not only visually brought up to date, but with many new technical features convinces the classic combat shirt in the LEAF range. New materials, improved cut and an update to the collar and zipper bring the shirt up to date. Ideal in functionality and comfort, especially in the intended combination with a plate carrier.
  
  

  Material and design in a functional facelift

  
  The Combat Shirt is made from a combination of materials that set the more heavily used torso apart from the sleeves: While the torso is made of a cotton/nylon blend designed for good heat and moisture management in keeping with a plate carrier use, the sleeves are made of a technical No Melt / No Drip Cotton Ripstop material. Mesh inserts under the arms provide adequate air circulation.
  
  For better thermal regulation, the button closure has been replaced by a collar with ¼ zip - an update that was not only visually due, but makes it easier to put the shirt on and take off. For the same reason, the buttons on the cuffs have been replaced with hook and loop closures, which is now much easier and faster to use. The update also does away with the cover of the zippers and instead uses a Zipper Garage, which prevents unintentional opening.
  
  

  Flatter pocket profile and replaceable elbow pads

  
  The upper arm pockets are slimmer in design and flatter in profile - a material saving that serves not only the pared-down look but also functionality. Both pouches feature generous hook-and-loop areas and are equipped with new V-Lite tie-down points made of nylon material that promise more durability and are easily accessible when combined with a plate carrier. The Assault Shirt comes with replaceable elbow pads. Significant modernization of the look and fit complement the technical updates to the tactical long-sleeve, which features an optimized mix of materials to ensure the durability required of a combat shirt in tactical operations.
