As the compact counterpart to the proven Numbat Chest Rig, this version is tailored for professionals and seasoned outdoor operators who demand functionality without excess.

  With a capacity of 2.6 liters and weighing only 207 grams, the Numbat Small delivers high performance in a low-profile design. Ideal for urban operations, patrols, or field deployment where efficiency matters most.

  Optimized Carry Options with Detachable Harness

  The key difference from the standard model: the harness of the Numbat Small is fully detachable. This allows it to function not only as a traditional chest rig but also as a compact waist pack – a major advantage in civilian use or low-visibility missions.

  A quick-release harness system ensures a stable fit without interfering with other equipment such as backpacks. The flat zippered front pocket provides immediate access to key items like documents, ID, or a smartphone.

  Modularity via MOLLE/PALS and Secure Mounting Points

  The front panel features MOLLE/PALS webbing for custom expansion with pouches, comms gear, or IFAKs. Integrated grommets allow secure attachment of tools, knife clips, or carabiners.

  An additional mounting point on the bottom offers carry options for gloves, small blades, or other compact essentials – always right where they’re needed.

  Interior Layout and VIS Compatibility

  The rear wall of the main compartment is lined with soft loop velour and is fully compatible with the VIS (Versatile Insert System). This allows for flexible integration of inserts and a tailored internal setup.

  A removable map sleeve and internal organizer compartments provide clear, functional separation of tools, medical gear, or notebooks – fast to access and securely held in place.

  Material Selection Built for Harsh Use

  Constructed from rugged Cordura 500D, the Numbat Small offers excellent tear and abrasion resistance, even under demanding field conditions. Its water-repellent and UV-resistant surface keeps equipment protected.

  The interior is made from 100% nylon, while the back panel is composed of a nylon-elastane blend (93% nylon, 7% elastane) for a body-conforming fit. Polyester mesh zones ensure proper airflow during high-exertion tasks and prevent overheating.

  Both versions of the Chest Pack provide the ability to carry mission-critical gear close to the body, easily accessible and well organized. Choosing between the Numbat and Numbat Small depends primarily on operation length, equipment volume, and preferred carry style.

  The regular Numbat delivers 3 liters of volume, making it ideal for extended missions or gear-heavy setups. At 479 g, it still offers excellent comfort thanks to its ergonomic build. Internal compartments, MOLLE/PALS webbing, and bottom lash points expand its capabilities.

  The Numbat Small, on the other hand, focuses on minimal essentials: lightweight, modular, and versatile in how it’s worn. It retains full VIS compatibility and uses the same high-grade materials as its larger counterpart.
