  Repair Kit for Permanent Repairs

  The Gear Aid Aquaseal FD Repair Kit 0.25 oz is a versatile repair kit for outdoor enthusiasts who won't let a hole, tear, or leaky seam spoil their mood. The set, which includes two self-adhesive patches and a tube of glue, is suitable for a wide variety of materials such as rubber, neoprene, nylon, vinyl, and cotton fabrics and enables a seamless repair of clothing and equipment that must be water and air tight. Whether it's a wetsuit, GORE-TEX rain jacket, fishing pants, drybag, air mattress, or tarp – with the Aquaseal FD Repair Kit, the lifespan of equipment is not left to chance.
  

  Closing Holes and Tears

  Some damages can be repaired with just a patch or just the sealing glue alone. However, in some situations, it is necessary to apply both. The area around the damage should be dry and, ideally, cleaned with isopropyl alcohol before repair. For air mattresses, deflate before starting the repair process. Apply the Aquaseal FD liquid adhesive over the tear using the included brush and then let it dry for 8-12 hours. To shorten the waiting time, when night falls or the canoe trip continues, a custom-cut Tenacious Tape Patch can now be glued over the Aquaseal FD. A clear PVC patch and a black nylon patch are included for this purpose and they have an adhesive back, that sticks to almost any material. In other cases, the repair tape serves as a patch for larger holes, such as those caused by contact with fire. In this case, the tape is applied to the back of the fabric and then coated from the front with a thin layer of Aquaseal FD, which then cures as usual. The separately available Hex Patches can also be used for quick repairs on the move, and the sealing glue can then be applied later at camp to allow for best focus on the process and full drying time. In all mentioned cases, the dried Aquaseal FD glue becomes a durable, flexible, and waterproof layer that forms a permanent bond with the material and cannot be removed.
