  The Carinthia Defence 4 is a very robust 3-season sleeping bag with waterproof outer material, which is not only legendary as a military sleeping bag, but which is now also available in the 5farb Flecktarn. This true Carinthia classic is one of the best-selling sleeping bags in its class, and not only because it can be combined with the Carinthia Tropen summer sleeping bag to create a fully comprehensive 4-season sleeping system.
  
  

  Material for ideal weather resistance

  The sleeping bag is suitable for demanding temperature ranges up to -15°C thanks to its ideal construction of different insulation layers. Carinthia's typical G-Loft insulation material is combined with Thermoflect, an ultra-light, ultra-soft and breathable cotton fabric that has the ability to harness body heat: As a result, heat retention can be increased by up to 11%, helping the body retain heat even better.
  
  The material is sewn in a 2-layer construction, which has allowed Carinthia to incorporate an additional air cushion between the quilted, insulated layer and the outer shell. The incoming cold can thus be minimized.
  
  

  Trapezoidal Mummy Sleeping Bag

  The cut of the mummy sleeping bag is trapezoidal to create more space in the foot area. Whether boots are worn in the sleeping bag, or simply to create space to store clothing or equipment at the foot end.
  
  All Carinthia military sleeping bags have a two-way zipper, so that the sleeping bag can be opened and left quickly and unexpectedly. The jam-free opening & closing of the zipper is guaranteed. The top-lying zipper is equipped with a zipper heat strip and thus provides additional protection against wind and moisture.
  
  As known and loved by Carinthia`s G-Loft series, the ratio of thermal performance, pack size and weight is brought to perfection. Thanks to the included pack bag, the Carinthia Defence sleeping bag can be quickly packed away and easily transported.

  Proper storage

  G-LOFT sleeping bags should always be stored uncompressed to maintain the insulation performance of the filling. The ideal storage method is hanging, open, or with unzipped closures in a large mesh bag such as the Carinthia Storage Bag Net in a dry, well-ventilated area. The filling needs enough space to expand and recover. The stuff sack should only be used for transport, never roll the sleeping bag but rather stuff it from the foot end with the zipper open. Repeated rolling places strain on the same areas of the filling and can damage the construction.
  
  

  Care instructions for G-LOFT sleeping bags

  G-LOFT sleeping bags are machine washable (delicate cycle, max. 30°C) and suitable for tumble drying on low heat. Before washing, close all zippers, open the drawstrings, and turn the sleeping bag inside out. A washing machine with at least 7kg capacity is required. The gentlest cleaning method is handwashing in warm water with synthetic fiber detergent. After washing, rinse several times to remove detergent residues. Spin at a maximum of 500 rpm, then air dry – avoid direct sunlight. Machine drying is possible on very low heat in the gentlest program. Shake the bag during drying; for heavy sleeping bags over 2kg, an industrial dryer is recommended.

  The Carinthia Defence 4 is available in three sizes: M (185) for individuals up to 185 cm tall,L (200) for those up to 200 cm, and XL (220) for people up to 220 cm. Choosing the right size depends on your height to ensure an optimal fit and maximum thermal efficiency.

  Einfach top. Der Defense 4 ist gar nicht so ein Monster, wie man es aufgrund der vielen Behauptungen im Internet (insbesondere YouTube) erwartet. Das Material ist innen wie außen weich. Ich hatte da Gott weiß was erwartet. Wenn er nicht in Oliv daher käme, könnte er als ein „normaler“ Schlafsack durchgehen. Das er etwas geräumiger ist, kommt mir entgegen. Da sich dies etwas negativer auf die Wärmleistung auswirkt ist logisch u.bekannt. Da kann man nachhelfen. Gebrauchte aus Bundeswehrbeständen sehen oft noch gut aus. Diese werden i.d. R. aber im Packsack über Jahrzehnte aufbewahrt, u.je nach Einheit so gut wie gar nicht benutzt. Das bringt am Ende natürlich nix. Dann leg ich lieber was drauf u. habe einen Neuen.   Super Produkt... Kann ich nur weiterempfehlen! Habe mir jetzt den Carinthia Tropen bestellt ist kombinierbar mit dem Defence 4... Bin gespannt!

  Der Schlafsack ist super. Macht genau das, was er verspricht und ist super verarbeitet. Perfekt für die Hängematte oder Biwak. Ich bin 185 cm groß und habe mir den 200er gekauft und ich finde, er passt.

  Der Defence 4 verspricht nicht zu viel und nicht zu wenig. Ob in der Hängematte, Zelt oder einfaches Boden-Setup im Shelter - der Körper denkt nicht eine Sekunde ans frieren. Trotz meiner durchschnittlchen Körpergröße von knapp 180 cm ist die 200er Variante mein Präferendum. Ich kann so tiefer in Schlafsack und habe an dem Kopfende noch genügend Platz für etwas "Luxus" (Kissen) in der Natur. Leicht zu verpacken, dank qualitativ hochverwertiger Materialien kann der Kompressionssack wirklich ordnungsgemäß in Anspruch genommen werden ohne zu reißen. Top-Schlafsack!
