This indestructible gadget is a real head-turner and offers outstanding features from the legendary Tundra series, surpassing all expectations for mobile coolers with its excellent insulation capability and extremely durable construction.
Durable Construction
While other coolers are often rendered unusable after just one summer due to their poor designs and large manufacturing tolerances making them unsuitable for prolonged cooling, YETI products are built to last a lifetime. The bodies and lids of the Tundra series are formed as hollow bodies through rotational molding and then foam-insulated with polyurethane. This creates mechanically extremely resistant yet lightweight components with extremely high heat retention. Combined with generously sized seals, as used in commercial coolers, it ensures that the contents of the Tundra 45 are kept maximally chilled.
Robust Details
The lid and cooler are connected by a sturdy hinge pin made of stainless aluminum with multiple gears. If necessary, both parts can be connected by robust eyelets with two locks to protect the valuable contents from thieves, curious animals, and even bears. Normally, the two sturdy T-Rex latches hold the lid tightly and provide enough pressure on the Coldlock seal. The cooler can be transported either by the side Lipgrip handles or, if carried by two people, by the reinforced textile loops with plastic handles. The practical rubber feet provide a stable stand and effectively prevent the YETI Tundra 45 from slipping on smooth surfaces. Attachment points for tie-down straps are provided on the housing to secure the cooler during transport on loading platforms, trailers, and boats. This keeps the cooler securely in place.
