Ballistic goggles for high performance use
With the SI Ballistic M Frame 3.0, Oakley presents a high-performance ballistic goggle that even exceeds the high industry standards with its thoroughly tested product features. As a tactical performance goggle, the M Frame 3.0 is designed with the best technologies and most innovative material developments, so that it always delivers top performance in operational scenarios and when fully equipped with helmet, night vision devices, etc. The SI Ballistic M Frame 3.0 with the dark bone frame colour comes with 2 sets of lenses, clear and grey, that can be quickly changed thanks to the simple system.
The SI Ballistic M Frame 3.0 exceeds ANSI Z87.1 industry standards for high mass, high velocity impact protection and also meets MIL SPEC MIL-PRF 31013.
Frame
The frame, or temple, of the SI Ballistic M Frame 3.0 is made from Oakley's proprietary O-Matter material. The patented material consists of a thermoplastic polymer that is very light, durable and flexible at the same time. In ballistic eyewear, O-Matter makes it possible to create a strong yet lightweight frame construction that remains stable even under strong impacts and impact forces. The material is also particularly resistant to chemical and physical influences such as high temperatures, moisture and UV rays.
Nose padding to prevent slipping
The hydrophilic Unobtainium nose pad becomes even more grippy when it comes into contact with water or sweat, thus preventing the glasses from slipping on the nose: The hydrophilic material of the nose pad absorbs moisture and thus increases the grip on the skin without becoming uncomfortable. Thanks to its flexibility and grip, the nose pad adapts perfectly to the individual shape of the nose, ensuring that the glasses fit securely and comfortably, even when wet or sweaty.
Plutonite lenses
The lenses and frame are connected by a clip that holds the lens and frame together for extra security.
The polycarbonate lenses of the ballistic goggles are made of pure plutonite, a proprietary material developed by Oakley that offers the highest optical clarity available for eyewear. Plutonite is a polycarbonate known for its high impact resistance and transparency, making it ideal for withstanding high velocity and high impact forces, such as from explosions or firearm use.
In addition, plutonite lenses block harmful UV rays, protecting the wearer's eyes from UV radiation.
With a permanent anti-fog coating on the back, vision always remains clear.
HDO optics with Polaric Ellipsoid Technology
The lenses' HDO optics, also proprietary to Oakley, minimise distortion and blur in the peripheral field of view for better contrast and colour perception; HDO stands for High Definition Optics.
Polaric Ellipsoid Technology is another special form of Oakley lens technology used here, where the lens is manufactured in an elliptical shape. This shape provides better coverage and ensures that the wearer's entire field of vision is optimally utilised. The technology also reduces glare by minimising unwanted light reflections.
Combined, Oakley HDO optics with Polaric Ellipsoid Technology provide exceptionally clear and precise vision and optimal coverage of the field of vision.
Compatibility
Finally, the frame's thin temple design allows the goggles to be used with helmets, over-ear hearing protection, communication systems or helmet-mounted night vision devices. Full compatibility exists with, for example, MICH, ACH, CVD, PASGT and Crye Precision helmets.
