The Leo Köhler Field Shirt 2.0 Flecktarn takes the proven concept of the Commando and KSK field shirt and develops it into a functionally enhanced new generation. The characteristic cut of a military field shirt has been retained, while the pocket configuration and ventilation around the sleeves have been significantly revised. This makes the field shirt ideal for users who value durable operational clothing, quick access to carried equipment and adaptable ventilation for changing conditions.
Construction
Durable Blended Fabric
The field shirt is made from 65% cotton and 35% polyester. This material combination combines the comfortable feel of cotton with the durability of a functional blended fabric, making it suitable for regular use during training, duty and outdoor activities.
Design
The classic 5-colour Flecktarn camouflage pattern provides the familiar appearance of German military clothing. Flapped chest pockets, shoulder epaulettes and the traditional field shirt collar retain the functional character of the previous model. At the same time, the 2.0 version features numerous revised details that provide practical advantages, particularly when carrying equipment and during activities involving a high degree of movement. The cut offers sufficient freedom of movement without losing the characteristic appearance of a Bundeswehr field shirt. The sleeve cuffs can be adjusted, while the shoulder epaulettes and patch chest pockets complete the classic design. By combining a proven basic construction with new functional features, the Leo Köhler Field Shirt 2.0 is equally suitable as tactical outerwear or as a durable working layer in the field.
Upper Arm Pockets with Quick Access
One of the most noticeable changes compared with the original KSK field shirt is the redesigned upper arm pockets. The pocket openings have been revised and now feature zippers with cord pull tabs. This allows the pockets to be opened and closed quickly, even when wearing gloves or when hand mobility is restricted. Additional loop panels are sewn onto the upper arm pockets, allowing compatible patches, identification markers or insignia to be attached and providing greater flexibility for individual or duty-specific configuration.
Forearm Pockets for Additional Storage
The 2.0 version also significantly expands the pocket configuration around the forearms. The sleeves feature additional pockets on both the front and rear, each accessible via a zipper with a cord pull tab. Smaller items of equipment can therefore be stored separately from the chest and upper arm pockets while remaining directly accessible on the arms.
Frequently used small items can be distributed across several storage areas instead of having to be carried in just a few larger pockets. The easy-to-grip zipper cords simplify operation and underline the practical, mission-oriented design of the revised field shirt.
Adjustable Ventilation
Another major improvement over the previous model is the underarm ventilation. The ventilation openings are backed with mesh fabric and can be opened or closed using zippers. During strenuous physical activity, this provides additional airflow, while the openings can be closed again in cooler temperatures or during periods of lower activity. This allows the field shirt to adapt more effectively to changing levels of exertion and weather conditions. Particularly during marches, training exercises, field work or other movement-intensive operational activities, the adjustable ventilation provides a functional advantage over a completely closed construction.
The Leo Köhler Field Shirt 2.0 remains closely related to the classic Commando field shirt in both appearance and function, while introducing modernised features in key areas. These new features expand its range of applications without unnecessarily changing the proven basic concept.
