Winter Jacket for Crisp Bushcraft Adventures
The new Helikon-Tex Winter Yukon Jacket is a hybrid of the robust SAS Smock and the lightweight Wolfhound insulation jacket – featuring a durable outer shell and warming insulation, this Bushcraft jacket is the ideal layer for extended winter bivouacs in the undergrowth, where high-performance clothing is essential. In Taiga Green, the winter parka pairs well with Stone Grey Olive.
Duracanvas for Lasting Durability
Helikon-Tex’s proven outer material is a blend of 65% polyester, 33% cotton, and 2% elastane, resistant to sparks and flexible enough to provide comfort and freedom of movement. Unlike traditional synthetic insulation jackets, the fabric is relatively quiet, preserving situational awareness during evening shelter construction. The material can be ideally treated with wax for improved weather protection.
Synthetic Insulation for Reliable Warmth
With 67g/m² Climashield Apex insulation, the jacket keeps you warm even in damp conditions and withstands stresses such as repeated compression from backpack use. The lightweight synthetic provides an excellent weight-to-warmth ratio and is designed for demanding outdoor activities.
Designed for Adventure
The regular cut allows for layering with fleece jackets for adaptable insulation. Equipped with a lined hood, adjustable via two drawcords and a hook-and-loop strap, the jacket reliably protects in windy winter conditions. The front features a 2-way zipper with relief snap, inner flap, and chin guard, closing high enough to keep the neck well covered with the hood on. The drawcord at the hem and adjustable sleeve ends prevent cold air entry, while underarm ventilation zippers allow airflow when chopping wood or performing other strenuous tasks. Two front cord loops for carbiners provide quick access for gloves, and side fabric loops allow attachment of pouches for tinder or berries.
Balanced Storage
The jacket features a practical selection of pockets without being overloaded. The two lower zippered pockets with one-sided fleece liners provide a warm resting spot for hands, while the easily accessible chest pockets store tools and navigation aids, with internal mesh pockets preventing small items like power banks, compasses, knives, or fire starters from slipping. Items needing separation can be stored in the upper arm pocket on the left sleeve, which also has a loop surface for motivating patches. Inside, three additional pockets include a Napoleon pocket on the left chest for valuables, and large mesh pockets on either side to keep winter gloves warm or protect ski skins from freezing.
