Endurance in Subzero Conditions
When the fire crackles in the cold forest and other insulated jackets hide from the sparks, it’s time for the new Helikon-Tex Yukon Winter Jacket. A fusion of the rugged SAS Smock and the lightweight Wolfhound Hoodie, this winter jacket impresses with functional insulation and high durability. The Earth Brown colourway comes with black hook-and-loop and zippers.
Durable Outer Material with Cotton
The Duracanvas fabric consists of 65% polyester, 33% cotton, and 2% elastane. The cotton content and fabric construction prevent holes from sparks, while the elastane provides flexibility for comfort and freedom of movement. The bushcraft jacket is not only comfortable to wear but also protects during firewood gathering, moving through dense undergrowth, and lighting a campfire without worrying about damage to the jacket. For especially demanding weather conditions, the fabric can be optimally waxed.
Warm Synthetic Filling
The tried-and-tested Climashield Apex is a synthetic fibre that is highly resistant to moisture. This makes it the first choice for Helikon-Tex garments designed for strenuous activities. With a fill weight of 67g/m², the Yukon Winter Jacket uses the same insulation as the Wolfhound Hoodie, providing comfortable warmth in winter.
Thoughtful Product Features
Designed to provide full protection in winter, the parka naturally features an insulatred hood. The hood is designed so that when the front zipper is closed, the neck is well covered. The zipper is a 2-way profile zipper with an internal flap to block cold drafts. The sleeve ends are adjustable with hook-and-loop and the hem features an elastic drawcord for fit adjustment. For adaptable ventilation during physical activity, underarm ventilation zippers with mesh inserts allow optimal airflow. To keep essential items accessible in subzero temperatures, the jacket is equipped with two front cord loops and side textile loops, perfect for attaching winter gloves, tethers, pouches, or cords.
Premium Pocket Layout
Unlike the Smock, Helikon-Tex has opted for a more discreet layout in the Yukon Winter Jacket while still including all pockets needed for extended bushcraft excursions. The obligatory hand pockets are accessed via side zippers, and the fleece lining on one side provides warmth. The two chest pockets have zippers near the centre, making them easily accessible even under backpack straps. Each chest pocket includes an internal mesh pocket to keep items like a compass, batteries, pocket knife, or lighter organized. The left upper arm pocket provides additional storage for items you prefer to keep separate and comes with a loop surface for personalization. Inside, a Napoleon pocket on the left side is ideal for small valuables, while two large open mesh pockets below keep gloves or socks warm and dry on the body.
