Rechargeable Headlamp for Tactical Applications
The Petzl ARIA 2R RGB Camo is a rugged and rechargeable headlamp designed for applications where reliable illumination and a discreet appearance are essential. In addition to powerful white light, the compact headlamp provides red, green and blue light in continuous or flashing modes.
Construction
Housing
The compact housing of the Petzl ARIA 2R RGB is designed for use in demanding conditions. The headlamp is impact resistant to IK07 and withstands drops from heights of up to two metres in accordance with ANSI/PLATO FL 1. Its IP67 protection rating also means that the lamp is dustproof and waterproof.
Despite its rugged construction, the ARIA 2R RGB weighs only 95 grams including the rechargeable battery. The mounting plate allows the angle of the lamp to be adjusted to suit the situation and the light beam to be directed precisely where needed.
Design
The removable and washable headband features symmetrical adjustment and can be easily adapted to the wearer’s head. The mounting plate is also compatible with various Petzl mounting solutions. These include HELMET ADAPT for different helmet types, SLOT ADAPT for compatible PETZL helmets used in professional applications, and NVG ADAPT for military helmets equipped with an NVG mounting system.
Lighting Technology
Three brightness levels are available for white light: Max Burn Time, Standard and Max Power. Max Burn Time is designed to provide the longest possible burn time, Standard offers a balanced combination of brightness and runtime, and Max Power provides maximum light output. A wide beam ensures comfortable illumination at close range, while the mixed beam improves visibility when moving.
In addition, the Petzl ARIA 2R RGB Camo features red, green and blue light. The three colours can be used in continuous or flashing mode. The subdued coloured light helps preserve the eye’s dark adaptation and enables discreet illumination. In flashing mode, the RGB light is visible from up to 700 metres away and provides a runtime of up to 300 hours.
Operation
A single switch allows quick selection of the brightness level and lighting function. When the lamp is switched on or off, an LED indicator displays the remaining battery life. For transport and storage, the PETZL ARIA 2R RGB also features a LOCK function that prevents accidental activation.

The ARIA 2R RGB comes with a rechargeable PETZL CORE battery rated at 1250 mAh, 3.6 V and 4.5 Wh. Charging time is approximately 3.5 hours. Thanks to the PETZL HYBRID CONCEPT, the power supply remains flexible. As an alternative to the CORE rechargeable battery, the headlamp can be operated with three AAA/LR03 batteries. It is compatible with alkaline and lithium batteries as well as Ni-MH rechargeable batteries. The lamp automatically detects the power source being used and optimises its lighting performance accordingly. With the CORE rechargeable battery, up to 625 lumens are available in Max Power mode. When operated with AAA/LR03 batteries, the maximum light output is 450 lumens.
The combination of white light, RGB illumination, rechargeable CORE battery and optional battery operation makes the Petzl ARIA 2R RGB Camo a versatile headlamp for tactical applications where rugged equipment, flexible lighting options and discreet illumination are required.
