US LVL 1 vs. US LVL 2 – Which Thermal Pants Fit Your Mission?
Helikon-Tex offers two thermal pant variants – US LVL 1 and US LVL 2 – each tailored for specific climate zones and activity profiles:
- US LVL 1 is the preferred choice for warm to moderate climates and high-intensity movement. With a lighter fabric weight (130 g/m²) and superior moisture wicking, it excels during marches, field exercises, or as sun protection when worn as a standalone layer.
- US LVL 2 is engineered for cold to very cold conditions and lower activity phases. The heavier construction (220 g/m²) delivers solid insulation while maintaining breathability – making it ideal for winter bivouacs, guard duty, or alpine missions.
Both models are fully compatible with the Helikon-Tex layering system – the choice depends on temperature, activity level, and mission duration.
