Helikon-Tex has set out with the Tramontane wind jacket to develop a windbreaker that balances lightness and functionality. Indeed, this wind blocker weighs only 120 g and can be cleverly stored in its own chest pocket, with the packed jacket being no larger than a beverage can - ideal for space-saving transport in any bag or backpack.
Innovative WindPack Nylon
Made from innovative WindPack Nylon, the Tramontane jacket offers not only outstanding windproofness but also impressive durability. The special nylon fabric is extremely lightweight and highly compact for storage.
WindPack Nylon is characterized by excellent breathability, effectively wicking moisture away from the body. An additional DWR (Durable Water Repellency) coating makes the jacket water-repellent. The micro-coating of the DWR is applied directly to the fabric fibers, altering the surface tension and preventing water penetration. Thanks to DWR, water droplets bead up on the surface without penetrating the fabric.
Importantly, the DWR impregnation does not affect the breathability of the material, allowing moisture (such as sweat) to be transported from the inside out, while preventing the ingress of water from the outside.Flexible Adjustment for Optimal Protection from the Elements
