  The Rip Ruck 24, the medium-sized backpack from the Rip Ruck series, still shows that its origins lie in the tactical Alice Ruck. Although its design is clearly more geared towards civilian use and it scores many points especially as a practical notebook bag, it still has some borrowings from its military cousin.
  
  

  Rip-Zip system and a bit of tactical heritage

  
  At first glance, the clear but functional design is convincing: the rip-zip opening - typical of Mystery Ranch - divides the upper part of the daypack, while two more patch pockets find space on the lower front. The PALS webbing between the two pockets and the daisy chain are suitable for M.O.L.L.E. parts.
  
  The inner compartment, easily accessible with one hand thanks to the rip-zip system, has a zipped mesh pocket and various smaller pockets for storing accessories. For those who need the backpack mainly for transporting a notebook and tablet, the separate laptop compartment is a plus, which is not only padded but also has its own insertion pocket for the tablet. The computer (up to 15") remains protected and can be pulled out without opening the main compartment. The computer pocket is accessible from the top and with a zip. The material of the backpack is the reliable 330 Robic material, which is complemented with YKK DWR-coated zips - a power combo that stands for durability.
  
  With its many compartments and practical laptop pocket, the Rip Ruck 24 is perfect for everyday madness. And 24 litres of volume are, after all, enough to take the daypack on a short day trip.
