  A course full of possibilities

  At Blade Create, the focus lies on crafting Damascus knives, and they are excited to offer you the opportunity to design your own Damascus knife in a three-day forging course – entirely according to your ideas. In this course, you have the chance to create sophisticated Damascus patterns such as twisted Damascus, multibar Damascus, raindrop/rose Damascus, and more, as well as to realize elaborate handle designs (for example, multi-part handle constructions made from different materials, non-ferrous or Damascus fittings, various spacers, etc.).
  
  The three-day course gives you the perfect opportunity to fully bring your creative ideas to life. With plenty of time available, you can create complex Damascus patterns and demanding designs to craft a knife that is not only functional but also carries your personal signature.
  
  

  Bringing out the best together

  Blade Create’s goal is to achieve the maximum for you within these three days. With your active participation and expert guidance, every effort is made to turn your ideas and visions into reality.
  
  

  Course schedule (3 days)

  The course begins at 09:00 at the Blade Create headquarters (Backgasse 1, 34628 Willingshausen, district of Wasenberg). First, you will receive a detailed safety briefing and a theoretical introduction. Afterwards, your individual knife design will be developed. Whether you envision a kitchen knife, utility knife, hunting knife, or outdoor knife, Blade Create turns your idea into reality, true to the motto “Your idea, your knife.” Up to a total length of 50 cm, your ideas are almost unlimited. If this is not sufficient, they will gladly refer you to their Damascus sword-forging courses.
  
  Next, you begin producing the Damascus steel. In the forge, different types of steel are welded together, and by folding and forge-welding, the number of layers is increased multiple times. One of the key focuses here is creating your individually desired Damascus steel. Blade Create makes use of the additional time to forge even extraordinary Damascus patterns, such as twisted Damascus, rose Damascus, ladder Damascus, high-layer wild Damascus, or similar designs.
  
  Once you have successfully forged the blade blank, you refine the details of the knife shape using appropriate grinding tools until you reach its final form. While the blade blanks are prepared for further processing, you prepare the materials for the knife handle. As mentioned above, you have free choice except for fossils.
  
  The second day also begins at 09:00. The morning starts with a theoretical segment on blade grinding before you put your newly gained knowledge into practice. Afterwards, you carry out the hardening process under guidance to ensure optimal heat treatment for your knife. After hardening and tempering, the fine grinding and blade polishing follow. The blades are then brought to a mirror polish by hand and machine to ensure the best possible etching result. You have all the necessary tools available to guarantee that your blade receives a flawless finish. After this step, a special acid treatment reveals the Damascus pattern.
  
  The third day again begins at 09:00 and is entirely dedicated to handle crafting. Here you create your own individual and even complex handle constructions in either full-tang or hidden-tang style, for example multi-part handle builds made from different materials, non-ferrous or Damascus fittings, various spacers, and more. The handle is precisely fitted to your preferences while maintaining everyday usability, and then refined by hand with sandpaper and polishing agents until it reaches a mirror finish. Finally, your knife is sharpened. Blade Create’sinstructors are available at all times to offer help and advice. Should you notice any issues with your knife in the future, you may of course contact Blade Create at any time.
  
  

  Lunch included

  Your physical well-being is taken care of, and beverages are available at cost price. Arriving by motorhome is generally not possible. Please contact Blade Create for assistance in organizing a nearby parking spot.
  
  

  Cancellation policy

  Free cancellation is possible up to two weeks before your booked course date. Blade Create will gladly help you find an alternative date. For cancellations made after this period, a fee of €125.00 will be charged. In any case, please contact Blade Create so that a satisfactory solution can be found.
