  Blade Create Blacksmithing Course – 2 Days

  An offer that inspires

  The Blade Create blacksmithing course includes all the protective equipment you need (forging gloves, safety goggles, ear protection). In addition, you will have access to a wide selection of materials: choose from high-quality handle materials such as fine hardwood, stabilized wood, or modern synthetics. A large selection of pins, mosaic pins, and spacers is also available to help you turn your knife into a true one-of-a-kind piece (the only exception: fossils).
  
  The Blade Create two-day course is the ideal choice for anyone looking for a more affordable experience. Please note that, due to the limited time, not all options of the three-day course can be offered. The design of your knife will be kept somewhat simpler, but the quality remains at the highest level. For more complex Damascus patterns or more elaborate handles, Blade Create recommends the three-day blacksmithing course.
  
  

  Bringing out the best together

  The goal is to achieve the maximum for you within these two days. With your active participation and Blade Create’s expert guidance, every effort is made to bring your idea of a knife to life.
  
  

  Course schedule (2 days)

  The course begins at 09:00 at the Blade Create headquarters (Backgasse 1, 34628 Willingshausen, district of Wasenberg). First, you will receive a detailed safety briefing and a theoretical introduction. Afterwards, your individual knife design will be developed. Whether you envision a kitchen knife, utility knife, hunting knife, or outdoor knife, Blade Create turns your idea into reality, true to the motto “Your idea, your knife.” Up to a total length of 50 cm, your creativity is almost unlimited. If this should not be sufficient, Blade Create also offers Damascus sword-forging courses.
  
  Next, you will begin producing the Damascus steel. In the forge, different types of steel are welded together, and through folding and forge-welding the layer count is increased multiple times. Once you have successfully forged your blade blank, you will shape the finer details using grinding tools until it reaches its final form. While the blade blanks are prepared for further processing, you prepare the materials for the knife handle. As mentioned above, you may choose freely except for fossils.
  
  The second day also starts at 09:00, this time focusing on the completion of your Damascus knife. The morning begins with a theoretical segment on blade grinding before you put your new knowledge into practice. After hardening and tempering, the fine grinding and blade polishing follow. After this stage, a special acid treatment reveals the Damascus pattern.
  
  In the next step, you prepare the handle materials for assembly. The handle is precisely fitted to your preferences while ensuring everyday usability, and then refined by hand with sandpaper and polishing compounds until it reaches a mirror finish. Finally, your knife is sharpened. Blade Create’s experienced instructors are available at all times to offer help and advice.   Lunch included

  Your physical well-being is taken care of, and beverages are available at cost price. Arriving by motorhome is generally not possible. Please contact Blade Create for assistance in organizing a nearby parking spot.
  
  

  Cancellation policy

  Free cancellation is possible up to two weeks before your booked course date. Blade Create will gladly help you find an alternative date. For cancellations made after this period, a fee of €125.00 will be charged. In any case, please contact Blade Create so that a satisfactory solution can be found.
