  Lightweight Screw-Lock Carabiner

  The compact Sm'D Screw-Lock by Petzl can be used like a quick-snapper or securely as a locking carabiner, thanks to its screw gate. It discreetly enhances the equipment and, with its certification, can be used for rescues or for overcoming vertical obstacles, unlike simple material carabiners. With its D-shape, the carabiner fits comfortably in the hand and optimizes the breaking load with the H-profile, all while keeping the weight low at only 45 grams.
  

  Classic Screw Gate

  Thanks to the Screw-Lock, the carabiner can either be left open for quick clipping of equipment or ropes, or it can be manually screwed shut for safety-critical applications. As a simple safety feature for important connections, a red indicator is applied, visible when the carabiner is unlocked – this allows for easy visual checks of setups with multiple carabiners.
  

  Usable as a Connection Element

  Thanks to the locking mechanism and the wide D-shape, the carabiner can be used for connecting with belay devices, anchor points, rope clamps, pulleys, and more. To secure the TBLOC rope clamp or pulleys with backstops from loss, the Sm'D is equipped with a hole that can accommodate up to 2.75mm thick lanyards. The snapper with Keylock construction provides a secure fit, while the nose-free shape prevents snagging when clipping in and out. Additionally, the rounded edges make it easier to rotate for perfect alignment and are gentle on textile connections. Thanks to the weight-reducing H-profile, the carabiner remains secure in the hand even when wearing gloves.
