Professional Bib Pants for Extreme Use
The Arc'teryx PRO Ski Guide Bib Pant is an exceptionally durable pair of bib pants, purpose-built for professional use in alpine terrain. It is designed for users who require uncompromising protection in severe weather, during long missions, and under high mechanical stress. Constructed from highly abrasion-resistant N140d 3L GORE-TEX Pro, it delivers reliable weather protection while maintaining excellent breathability. In demanding terrain, the material effectively shields against wind, moisture, and abrasion caused by sharp equipment.
Construction
Material
The Ski Guide Bib Pant is engineered for long days on skis, challenging ascents, and technical rescue operations. The 3-layer GORE-TEX PRO membrane ensures long-lasting waterproof performance combined with very high breathability. An additional DWR treatment causes snow and moisture to bead off reliably, preventing saturation in changing conditions.
Thoughtful Design
The mid-height bib effectively protects against penetrating snow and cold wind. An integrated, adjustable webbing belt and an elastic waistband provide a secure fit, even when moving with a backpack or climbing harness. The ergonomic e3D patterning with articulated knees and seat allows unrestricted freedom of movement during ascents, descents, and stationary work.
Features
TPU-reinforced hems reliably protect against damage from sharp edges and significantly extend the lifespan of the pants. Integrated snow gaiters with cord locks prevent snow from entering. For added cushioning when working in snow or on hard surfaces, removable knee pads are integrated and can be easily taken out for care and maintenance.
Comfort and Safety
WaterTight zippers on the thighs provide effective ventilation during strenuous ascents. The low-noise TPU zipper pulls can be safely operated even while wearing gloves. A removable RECCO reflector increases searchability in emergency situations and complements the overall safety concept of the pants.
Pocket Layout
The pocket configuration is consistently designed for use in alpine environments. Two bib pockets with WaterTight zippers offer space for a smartphone or documents. Generous thigh pockets accommodate additional equipment, with one pocket large enough to hold a field notebook. An integrated attachment loop allows secure fastening of keys or tools. All pockets remain easily accessible even when wearing a climbing harness.
